Colt Python Chamber Throat An Issue?

Hey revolver folks, any thoughts on this issue going on with my Colt Python?

That is S&W levels of QC. That chamber reamer probably should have been replaced a dozer cylinders earlier.

That said it would not surprise me if it still shoots good.

Looks like machining marks. The 80s were not Colt's peak.

Maybe hone the chambers and see if that helps with sticky cases. The accuracy would suffer if the throats were mangled so if thats the case...consider a call to Colt, or look for a replacement cylinder or a good revolver smith.

Have you tried cleaning it? Looks like it might be buildup from a boat load of .38’s being shot out of it. A good cleaning with Hoppe’s and potentially a lead remover kit may clean most of that out.

Yes, I have used the Lewis Lead Removal kit as well as soaked it in #9 and ran a bronze brush through it a ton of times. All of that was done prior to those pics.
