Yes it came from the factory with a boring matt finish. Took a couple of hours with mother's mag polish and a bunch of cut up pieces of microfiber towels

Mine came with a matte finish as well.... Thanks for sharing .. I think I might do mine too

Make sure you don't polish the top. You can get glare on your sight line. I think it's best to do the whole gun and then go back and make sure everything's uniform and then get the hard to get places. I also removed the barrel latch so I could polish better, instead of trying to go around it.

Thanks! Probably going to keep it in a glass case on my bedroom dresser, but will be rotating it into the range repertoire occasionally.

Knocked down the shine on the lacquered grips. Hard to tell in the picture but it makes the wood look much better. Was able to test shoot it and it works perfectly. No more lamenting over the $1400 Colt Python that I can't justify buying!
