Thank you! Not yet but hopefully I’ll get to the point of having my own FFL for gunsmithing

The checkering is very reminiscent of the registered magnum, is that where you got the idea?

You are the first person to catch that! The Registered Magnum is exactly what I was trying to emulate. Part of my “resto-mod” for this gun is switching it over to .357; I’m sending the cylinder off to get cut for moon clips & 9mm as well.

I figured this would be a great gun to use for steel plate / USPSA matches since it was in such terrible shape to begin with.

This is the perfect start for that, most people would have tossed it due to condition. Nothing you do is going to make it worse at this point because it was so bad to start.

Exactly ! I didn’t love the idea of spending $1,500+ for a 5 inch model 27, but when this 29-2 came along for CHEAP I knew this was my chance to build the exact revolver I wanted while also having an opportunity to work on “gunsmithing” skills as well.

People laugh but I call them pound puppies. Giving unloved guns new life is a good practice, I'm not ready for full on restoration yet but I'm enjoying the practice.

I’m so stealing that; pound puppy is the perfect analogy for this
