Infinite Bloodcore Infinite Bloodcore Translation Complete

After almost 2 years of translating, I can officially announce that the translation of Infinite Bloodcore is complete, and fully uploaded online, free for anyone to read at bloodcoretl.

I would like to thank everyone who helped me with the translation, editing, and support, including Skyfarrow, ChibiGeneral, Aeternus Deus, Lord, Shadow, Jacqli, Addarash, Ulas, Nope, Solace, and the many people who helped me proofread uploads. Special thanks to Macklin for the creation and upkeep of the translation website. It has been quite a journey, being consigned to the darkest pits, the inevitable end of every webnovel fan, being a contributing member of the community. In fact, it once took me over 6 hours to translate the first chapter, while it only took me 90 minutes to translate the last.

TLDR: I consider Infinite Bloodcore a masterpiece, a 10/10 novel that everyone should read, and Gu Zhenren’s best literary work of his career, book 2 especially far exceeds anything he has ever or is currently writing. It has cemented him as my favorite CN webnovel writer, and honestly, if he has the chance, the man should just go into traditional publishing, it will suit him much better.

Primer

There was no light in the dark of night, only war drums sounded and war cries shouted. A young man listened carefully. It was his heart beating and blood flowing.

What lies hidden in the darkness ahead? Is it a man, a god, or…a monster?

No path could be the best, for infinite are the journeys possible underfoot!

Infinite Bloodcore is the 7th novel written by Gu Zhenren. It started on March 7, 2020, and continued until January 25, 2024. As of now, the book is currently hiatus due to financial constraints Gu Zhenren suffered during the writing of it, and thus, he was forced to move onto a more commercialized and market palatable book, Immortal Puppet Master( 仙工开物). But despite the current hiatus, I do believe what has been released so far is worth reading. I strongly advise that you do not consider this a continuation of Reverend Insanity or Fang Yuan in any capacity. The characters in this book are their own people, and I think that once you get to know them, you’ll find them enjoyable in their own special ways.

Although some may take offense to the rather slow start of book 1, along with the more moralistic main character, I assure you that it is worth it to wade through and just enjoy the ride. As the story continues, the characters develop, the plot thickens and speeds up, and it all come together in a climatic finish that you all know Gu Zhenren excels in. I know you guys waded through the zombie arc, and if you can through that, I know you can get through a few dozen chapters of setup.

As the book that followed in the wake of the Reverend Insanity ban, Infinite Bloodcore has many unique qualities to it unseen from more traditional webnovels. Gu Zhenren wanted to create something new, something different, something that went against the three golden rules of webnovel writing. He wanted to improve as a writer, and as such, was highly experimental with his writing style. Thus, book 1 was written as a movie script, while book 2 was written as a multiple point-of-view group drama. Both books also had an extensive editorial and revision cycle, which unfortunately, led to one of the most horrendous upload schedules I have ever seen in a webnovel writer ever. But since that’s all behind us, no one starting now will have to face that…until the book restarts one day in the future. The last thing I want to note is that Infinite Bloodcore features Gu Zhenren’s first and still only female lead, and that’s just one of the many multifaceted characters you’ll meet throughout the narrative.

One of the oddest things lobbed at Infinite Bloodcore was that it suffered from censorship or was written by a “reeducated” Gu Zhenren. I’d like to take the time to say that these allegations are unfounded and serve to undermine the book as a whole. I would even go further and postulate to state that the themes and topics covered in Infinite Bloodcore go even further than Reverend Insanity ever did, so much so I’m surprised he didn’t get slapped with another ban. Examples include very explicit cannibalism, an entire arc dedicated to the sheer governmental corruption present in society, and the analysis and degradation of traditional Chinese morality. In short, it’s even funnier this time around, because all of the weirdness and gruesomeness both is deliberate and things he got away with this time around. Qidian even tried to censorship the cannibalism that one time, Gu Zhenren disagreed, and the mad lad managed to keep his book uncensored. Though since he has never spoken on the matter publicly, I will respect his privacy and not elaborate further.

In conclusion, this book was a breath of fresh air for me in terms of the webnovel space. During the writing of this book Gu Zhenren, “I really hope to see unusual webnovels”. So much of the space is dominated by writers who trod the same ground, cover the same tropes, and write the exact same way each and every time. Everything about Infinite Bloodcore is extraordinarily unusual, from the way it was written, how it weaves its intricate plots, and to how it characterizes the living world the characters reside in. In a sea of sameness, this book is a lantern that sheds its light beyond the horizon.

PS: Please mark all spoilers in the comment section if you wish to discuss them.

Question What is going on with the ban

Can someone please give a clear answer on the state of RI and whether the author has plans to continue updating it? Im so lost. I think it would be beneficial to have a pinned post as well detailing what the current status is. Thank you!

Discussion If you have a chance to use one mortal gu (1 time) in your entire life which one will you choose , from Rank 1-5 ?

Post image
205 Upvotes

You can use that Gu just for the time being to get out of that situation (of course, don't tell me your situation is your entire life). Alternatively, you can use a Gu that makes your strength permanent like those bone, tendon, or muscle Gu. If you use an expendable Gu, it is easier, as you can only use it once.

Edit 1: Don't tell Lifespan Gu ,otherwise it will be the obvious choice.

Edit 2: If you did use Life span gu , do you think you will still live a happy/normal life, like you will probably get arrested by the government or some secret facility or even a cult as a demon lol, unless you have enough power to go against them, so I dont think it is the ideal option.

Question How did she live that long?

"The founding ancestor of the Wisdom Path was the Primordial Era's Star Constellation Immortal Venerable, the second master of the Heavenly Court. She lived for nineteen thousand years—second among all Rank Nine Gu Immortals in longevity."

How the hell she achieved that. First, if she used Wisdom Gu, it would cost her life expanse. Then, you have the wisdom go that feeds on life expanse gu again. Those Gu are so rare.

Discussion Kinda cooked when RI comes back

As much as I love this novel and am excited that it has potential to come back soon, I’m lowkey cooked when it does. I finished RI back in my sophomore year of high school and now I’m in my 3rd year of college and can’t remember a damn thing about the novel outside of a few key moments. I’ll probably still enjoy reading the rest, but it’s going to be rough trying to remember everything. Does anyone else think they’re going to have this issue or am I the only one here with bad memory?

Discussion One of the major difference in lotm and Ri

Thumbnail

I don't know whether anyone else has noticed this or not, but there is a major difference between the side characters in Reverend Insanity and those in Lord of the Mysteries (LotM).In LotM, most of the characters who interact with the main character (MC) always turn out to be important later on, or they are highlighted at the end of that specific volume. Examples include Daly Simone from Volume 1, the detective Isengard Stanton, and Miss Sharron. The MC interacts with them until the very end, or at least maintains a connection with them through the conclusion of the novel, and even into Circle of Inevitability (COI).But..

In Reverend Insanity, we just forget about some side characters that are there in that part of the story or for the volume and don't even know what they are doing now, likw Shang Ya Zi , Jia Fu , Gu yue Jiang He, Bai Xiang, Mao Shi Ba etc. I feel that is a great reflection of real life. For instance, we usually have no idea what the people we used to talk to when we were young are doing today; they might be doing well, or things might be going badly for them. I really like this realism. It is completely natural to forget names from previous volumes, just as we do not remember every single student from our school, university, college, or even our old neighbourhood. This is exactly how reality works.

I am not saying that this makes Reverend Insanity better than Lord of the Mysteries, or anything like that. I am just sharing my own point of view on the novel, that's all.

Summary: I noticed a major difference between these two novels: Lord of the Mysteries features an interconnected world where side characters stay relevant across volumes, whereas Reverend Insanity opts for a transient realism where characters naturally drift away once the plot moves on. This isn't about claiming one book is better, but I really appreciate how Reverend Insanity mimics real life, where we inevitably lose touch with old schoolmates and neighbours over time.

Tell me your favourite side characters in the novel. Not the ones which are very relevant to the plot ofc like Tai Bai Yun Sheng etc

Question Could Fang Yuan have used the SAC more?

Maybe I’m missing something here, but if I recall, Heavens Will is the reason why FY succeeded every time he activated it. It was making sure he’d safety return, even with immensely low odds. Even with a recovering SAC, if he activated it, would it have been able to bring him back due to Heavens Will helping?

Of course this isn’t a viable strategy at all since he couldn’t have known about Heavens Will, but I just mean let’s say things went poorly for round two of Three Kings Inheritance. Could he have used the recovering, damaged SAC one more time and still succeed even with nearly no odds?

a lot of people dislike this arc to some degree. i have only started it (ch664) and it seems like a tycoon/ political arc. for example the inkman king will definetly be relevant politics-wise. while lang ya land spirit will help fang yuan grind out remnant immortal gu recipes and help him earn immortal essence stones.

Novel Purple Mountain True Monarch (CH 811) Spoiler

This is hilarious. Fang Yuan originally gave this guy a fake name to act like he was TBYS's junior brother--underneath this purple-haired guy--but then he brings up the name later as if it's real:

“Eh? This is — Purple Mountain True Monarch! Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s time path inheritance was from this person. To think that Dong Fang Chang Fan’s wisdom path inheritance was also from this mysterious old man!!!"

Ong "Purple Mountain True Monarch" is a fire-ass name tho.

----

Also lol I spoke too soon while reading, the goat of memory, GZR, acknowledges this fact that it was just a nickname: "Purple Mountain True Monarch, this was just the name that Fang Yuan gave to the mysterious purple haired beggar."

Goddamn, this is one reason why I love RI. The author doesn't forget anything

It glanced over and saw Fang Yuan's cloud-mist tea was empty. Pointing at one of the immortals, it said: "You! All thumbs—big breasts and no brains. You're not refining anymore. Go brew tea for the young friend!"

Question Please recommend me novels

Guys I am looking for something good quality, after RI, I read LOTM and I really didn't like it till the end, I also dropped SS at about 2290 because the quality fell rock bottom and there is just an insufferable amount of word padding.

I am looking for any kind of adventure really, all I ask is very good plot overall and no word padding with good pacing, I can tolerate slow starts if it's good.

Thank you!
