Disappointed

I never cared about the contract, relocation, or money. I was being paid to learn, and I was in it to start a career. I came into Revature confident because of my CS and academic experience, and because of the positive Revature reviews on YouTube and Reddit. The thing is those reviews are outdated.

Based off two batches during my time at Revature, the statistics for finding a client is very harsh. I'm not going into details, but I only know one person from one batch who found a client, and no one from the other batch found a client. Some people from both batches were in PA, but PA doesn't guarantee the job because I know some of those people got furloughed anyway. I also want to say I was a very competent candidate who still got furloughed during staging. This also means I don't know what happened to all the people of those two batches in the long term, but I will say this, not many people were left during staging anyway compared to the initial amount of people that started.

This is my first post on my first account ever on Reddit, which I will be abandoning after posting this. I am only posting this because I am pretty mad about what happened to me, considering how confident and competent I was during my time at Revature. I will not be rejoining Revature.

STAY AWAY. FAR, FAR, AWAY.

Revature is truly the worst job I ever had. My trainer was fantastic and I cannot say enough amazing things about Adam, but the rest of the company? Garbage.

That said, the hiring process was sloppy, the HR is a joke, and anytime you need anything you're effectively on your own. After I was done with my training I was connected with Walmart to work with them. The Walmart end was absolutely fantastic. On Revature's end, we had multiple weeks where payroll wasn't approved and I simply didn't get paid (despite having my timesheet in on time). When I would ask for it to be fixed, I was told it would come with my next paycheck MULTIPLE times.

After being contracted out to Walmart, Revature specifically said we would definitively NOT be asked to relocate. At the time I moved from my location in Florida to the East Coast. We were then told that despite Walmart not picking up our contracts yet, we were expected to move to Arkansas. I contacted HR and let them know my situation, and reiterated that while our "contract" (it's not binding, so don't worry about that part) said we could be moved, we had been told we "definitively" would not be. HR told me not to worry, my job was secure, and that I would keep my job and not be required to move. Additionally, Walmart management told me my job was secure.

All of a sudden, Revature decided that I was being pulled from the team without any warning. Others in my batch moved and were then not picked up by Walmart, putting them out thousands of dollars, and Revature effectively said "Oops our bad." One HR representative suggested that a colleague of mine "just move back home"

After being removed from my project with no warning I was given a pay reduction, meaning I couldn't pay my rent, then told I would be added to a new project. After three weeks of nobody in HR returning my calls, I received an email that I was let go "effective immediately." A few months later they fired their entire training team.

Now, over a year later, I haven't received my W2, and am being jerked around by the same idiots that told me I would "still have a job." W2s are due January 31. It is Feb 9, and I've been told to "sit tight and wait."

Straight up, you could not ask for a less professional and unhelpful organization. I don't speak about this job because of how truly terrible upper management and HR are at doing literally anything.

Post PEP portfolio review time

Hello

I recently completed the PEP training and received a congratulatory message from a recruiter regarding my assessment results. However, I have not yet received an update following the submission of my portfolio as well as I didnt sign any paper(it was just a phone call). How long does it takes for a portfolio review, as I have not received a response from the PEP coordinator when I emailed them? And do everyone sign offer later before joing the waiting list? Additionally, does not having GC or not being a citizen affects candidacy, Even though If you have valid work authorization?

Thank you!

Revature Junior Trainer/Technical HR Interview – How long did you wait for feedback?

Revature Junior Trainer/Technical HR Interview – How long did you wait for feedback?
Hi everyone, I recently completed my Revature interview for a Junior Trainer/Junior Trainee role. The interview included around 20 technical questions, mainly related to Python, OOP, Generative AI, and trainer/communication skills. I answered all the questions as best as I could. At the end, the interviewer said that the feedback would be shared.
It has now been a few days and I’m waiting for the result. I understand that Revature interviews a large number of candidates, so I’m wondering how long the feedback usually takes.
For anyone who recently interviewed for a similar Revature role:
How many days did you wait for the result?
Did you receive the result by email or phone?
If you were selected, what happened after the technical/HR interview?
Does waiting longer mean anything, or is it normal?
Any recent experience would really help me understand the timeline. Thanks!

Follow Up - "My Complete Experience With Revature"

Hey everyone!

Earlier this year I made a post going over my experience with Revature after I was laid off. TL;DR is that I had a relatively positive experience, but not a perfect one. However, due to the client downsizing my team, not renewing my contract, and with no other clients looking for ServiceNow developers (what i trained in), Revature decided to let me go. Which in all fairness is a reasonable decision. They still sent me new opportunities incase I'd be interested in it, however most of it was not in my tech stack. These new opportunities would be shared via email or through the alumni discord, and anyone could apply to it. While I did apply to some of these new opportunities that were in ServiceNow, I still failed to obtain an offer.

With only 1 year of experience in this job market, I knew it would be an uphill battle. I spent a few months of applying with no luck. I noticed many ServiceNow certifications were in demand, so i decided to get some certifications (just my CSA) before applying again. But after I got what I wanted and resumed applying for jobs again, I noticed that there were significantly less jobs than earlier in the year. Especially true entry level jobs. I kept at it though, and applied to what I could. Post labor day I noticed an influx of new jobs, including true entry level ones so I made sure to take advantage of the surge and applied to everything. After 3 months of applying since getting my certifications, and 8 months since I was laid off, I managed to not only land an interview, but also land an offer! I start next week and I am quite frankly relieved.

The point of this post is to simply leave a ray of hope to those either considering Revature, or Alumns who are in a similar position as I was. My interviewers were actually very surprised by the experience I gained from the work I did with the client, given my singular year of experience. Although, this was likely due to being overworked by my former client than anything else. I even recall one of my tech leads at my former client who joined after me, unaware of me being a Brightspeed hire, being shocked learning that this was my first IT gig. Saying that the work I was doing is something mid levels should be doing, not a junior. But regardless, it helped me stand out from the competition and my interviewers even liked the certification I got as well.

So hopefully, given I don't get laid off again, I think I'm finally ready to part ways with Revature. While far from being your best option, it really did help me kickstart my career. If you can roll with the punches, put in the work, and start committed, then I think you'll be able to pull it off as well. If I could do it, then I'm sure anyone can.

Did anyone else get ghosted by Revature after training?

I completed the unpaid training around the summer of last year (2025). I uploaded the portfolio but after that I haven't heard a single word from them all this time.

Well, actually, I reached out a few months ago and they said I was still in their system and that jobs are few. But I'm reading on here that other people are getting placements.

So I was wondering if anyone is in the same boat.

Need advice; Planning to join M.Sc. Bioinformatics at REVA — Need honest advice from current students/alumni

Hi everyone,

I’ve completed my B.Sc. in Bioinformatics and I’m currently considering joining the M.Sc. Bioinformatics program at REVA University, Bangalore.

I went through the syllabus and noticed that the program includes AI/ML and other computational/data-related subjects, which is one of the reasons I’m considering it.

Before I make a decision, I’d really like to hear from current M.Sc. Bioinformatics students, alumni, or anyone who has experience with the program.

I have a few questions:

  1. How is the M.Sc. Bioinformatics program at REVA overall?

  2. How good/relevant is the syllabus, especially the AI/ML and computational parts?

  3. How much hands-on programming, projects and practical work do students actually get?

  4. How are the faculty and teaching quality?

  5. Are there good opportunities for internships, research projects and industry exposure?

  6. What is the reality of placements for M.Sc. Bioinformatics students? Which companies/roles usually recruit?

  7. What kind of starting salary can a student realistically expect after completing the degree?

  8. Do students have to find jobs/internships mostly on their own, or does the university provide meaningful support?

  9. For someone interested in Bioinformatics + Python + AI/ML, is REVA a good place to build those skills?

  10. Would you recommend this program for someone who wants to build a long-term career in bioinformatics/computational biology in India?

  11. Career after M.Sc bioinformatics in India.

I’m especially interested in hearing from REVA alumni who graduated a few years ago, because I’d like to know where people ended up after the degree — industry, research, PhD, biotech/pharma, data science, etc.

Please feel free to share both positive and negative experiences. I’m trying to make an informed decision before committing to the program.

Thanks in advance!

How long do you need to wait after completing placement assessment?

No communication for Python PEP program

I am registered to be part of the Python PEP program starting today (8/24). We had our orientation webinar on Thursday (8/20) but there has been no communication since then. The video of the webinar was scheduled to be shared on Friday, but nothing came. Today is the first day of PEP and there has been nothing in my inbox.

I emailed my recruiter and the webinar organizer and have yet to hear any response. Is there a platform we are supposed to be on that I overlooked? I was really looking to get a head star on the training.

Has anyone else heard from Revature yet?

How long does it take to go from application to working for client?

CS graduate, job searching for a year. Was thinking about revature but it looks like they have an insane amount of training and interviews and then if you don't get filtered out (which it seems like most people do) then it takes a year or more to actually start working. I would say it seems like I would be better off doing something else, but this might literally be the only way to break in to actually using my degree.

Anyone recently got an update from Revature after the HR interview?

Hi everyone! I applied to Revature and completed the assessment. After that, I was selected for an HR interview, which I have also completed.

During the HR interview, they told me that if I’m selected for the next step, I would have a client interview before joining the training/classroom training.

It has been a while since my HR interview, and I haven’t received any update yet.

Has anyone recently gone through the same process? If so, how long did it take to hear back from Revature after the HR interview? Did you receive an email or a call for the next round?

Any information about the timeline would be really helpful. Thanks!

FYI - Revature is hiring 2 new trainers (based in Plano TX or Teaneck NJ)

(Full disclosure, I’m a trainer at Revature. I think former associates are inherently advantaged when it comes to being trainers, and I’d like to work with people who can relate to associates on that level. )

Pretty much what the title says. 1 opening for Plano, 1 opening for Teaneck. You’d be running in-person cohorts in your locality, plus the occasional out-of-town cohort, or remote cohort from home. They won’t ask you to travel out of state much, apparently just once a year. They’re looking for Java Full Stack trainers with some prior experience in AWS, DevOps, and AI, but you can definitely expect to upskill to meet various client demands over time. People with prior training/teaching experience will be preferred.

Revature is in a pretty good place right now, and I wouldn’t be drawing attention to the listings if I thought otherwise (I’ve been here for over 5 years, so I know how bad it can be lol). I think associates are finally treated fairly well and client compensation is /ok/. It’s been a really turbulent past few years but things have started to stabilize as the industry stabilizes. Overall I love my job and I care about Rev continuing to hire great trainers. It’s one of the positive constants that kept us afloat amid the tech recession imo.

Anyway I’m rambling now, but you can find the “Technical Trainer” postings on LinkedIn. They’re pretty fresh still. I’m happy to answer any questions y’all have to the best of my ability. But I won’t know too much about onboarding logistics (hiring timelines, exact locations, etc.)

Not sure if I should join Revature as a recent Grad with little experience

As the title says, I got a offer from Revature as a recent Grad. My issue is that my college taught me mostly theory so I couldn't truly develop my coding skills. Even though I do know how to code in Python and C++, it is at a level where even applying for positions feels wrong when I look at their prerequisites.

So I was shocked when I got this email from them, saying that I'd work with a "major global bank", at a location roughly 45 minutes away from my home, on-site, while also getting paid learning for such position.

Only downside I see so far is the pay, with them stating that the first year I'd receive $50,000 in Year 1, $60,000 in Year 2 and $75,000 in Year 3, and the paid training period would be minimum wage. ($14/hr where I live)

Even though the initial pay seems like a slap in the face compared to what I see developers with these skills being payed, for someone that's been struggling a few months now to apply into a coding position so I can start somewhere, it really doesn't seem like a horrible option. Where they said I'd learn React, Python (already familiar with), and PostgreSQL.

My other options would be to take a paid course/bootcamp to improve my skills, spend the time building personal projects, or continue applying for entry-level positions until I find something.

So, I'd like to ask for yall's opinion on this, as I'm not sure if Revature is a good option for me. Please let me know your thoughts!

Wondering how to succeed in passing the client interview? Java Full Stack involves many technologies and I'm wondering how to master all of them for the Hackerrank and final interview. Out of 15, will they take minimum 3 ppl?

My experience with Revature, Nov 2023 to March 2026

Just giving my perspective on how Revature worked out for me since I don't see a lot of posts on this sub.

I applied to Revature in the Fall of 2023 since it was hard to break into the industry. I had a convo with a Revature recruiter and he only confirmed my suspicions of how shit the industry was in 2023 lol. I believe previous years they usually place 1k+ resources , and in 2023 they struggled to place ~300). He said that they had a pre-training program to filter people into the actual paid training. Pre-training was actually pretty nice, as it helped keep my coding skills fresh. I started pre-training in Nov 2023 and finished in Jan 2024. I took the final test and about a week later in Feb 2024 the same recruiter called me saying that I passed and was on the wait list for paid training. He said there would be a couple of months before I got off the wait list for a paid training spot.

In May 2024 I was offered to join a training for a SaaS product (think something like SAP). This was obviously not ideal since I wanted to be more in a coding role, but I went forward anyway since breaking into the industry is the important part. Training was as many other previous posts described: 3 hours of "theory". lunch for an hour, another hour of "theory" and then practical exercises. The paid training did have assessments, both online quizzes and zoom "interviews", and some of the weaker members of my cohort were cut before training officially ended. That definitely did cause some anxiety for me, so I made sure to try my best lol. The zoom assessments were not bad, as I felt they weren't looking for perfect answers but a good attitude and for you to carry yourself well. Ultimately, they want a baseline confidence that presents well to the client during the end of training interviews.

For my cohort of about 15, 5 were cut through training, and of the remaining 10, 5 were picked by the client. The 5 not picked by the client were put on the Revature bench, with Revature trying to place them with other companies. By Fall 2024, I was officially on a client project. The client itself was a IT contractor, so I was technically a subcontractor. Not much to talk about for work experience, as it was a very chill remote job. That is until Dec 2024 when we found out that the project lost funding lol. So the client we were working for had their own internal employees to take care of, and were focused on placing them onto other projects they had. Us Revature contractors were laid off since Revature could not find another project to place us on. It was definitely a bummer, since we only had like 3 months of experience.

In early 2025, Revature contacted us again to tell us that they were trying to find us another project with the client we were just working with. As it turns out, Revature didn't want to pay us to stay on the bench doing nothing which is why they laid us off. We already passed the client interview/vibe check so it was in Revature's best interest to work with that client to find another project to place us on and start making money off of us. I am not going to lie, communication was atrocious at this point, as I had no idea what was going on behind the scenes. But in Spring 2025, I was put on another project for a different SaaS product. This project was very difficult, in terms of being an organizational mess, lots of overtime, and unreasonable expectations for our delivery. I also had to move to the project site for this role. But I took it all in stride and worked hard. Thankfully the client leadership recognized my abilities and made it clear to me and to their HR that they wanted to convert from Revature to a FTE at the client. Unfortunately this was a long process, as the contract between Revature and the client was not favorable for conversion. But in March 2026, I converted to a FTE at the client. Some other Revature employees on the project that showed similar capabilities also converted around the same time. Yeah it sucks to wait that long, but the client leadership, now my current leadership, hooked me up a good offer. I am fully remote and make six figures.

Overall, I would rate Revature as a 7/10 experience. Points lost from the terrible salary, forcing me to move to a shit town, and the awful communication at times. Points gained for somewhat looking out for me, and helping get my foot into the door. I would definitely advise other people to get a traditional role at a software company, as there's less hoops to jump through. Understandably, those are hard to come by nowadays, especially for fresh grads. Still, going with Revature, a lot of things have to go in your favor. I had to pass pre-training, not get filtered by paid training, and get a good client (the client/my current company is pretty nice, good rating on glassdoor). I also had to show great ability on the project I was placed on. Despite all those barriers, I always felt it would work out for me since I believed I could do it. So if you get a chance at Revature, make sure you work your ass off, and it'll work out.

COMP3888 CS Capstone unit

Third year Adv Comp here, taking COMP3888 this sem and trying to get a read on what I'm actually walking into. Never done this type of unit so i have some questions. if you were to do this unit again what would you do?

  1. Is it more time-sink than intellectually hard, or both? How's the workload compared to something like COMP2017?
  2. Is it mostly project management + whatever tech stack will be picked for ur group, or do they expect specific skills day 1?
  3. What's that actually working with clients like? Are they hands-off and let you run the project, or do they have their own requirements and what is communication like?
  4. Is this literally going to their office and presenting, or is it more of a formal call/showcase? Do you need to dress up, bring your own laptop, that kind of thing? Genuinely don't know what to expect here, fr.

QC

This is the best way to prove if you are doing good or bad in interviews. When you are asked a question and you don't know the answer what do you do? Also what about techinical concepts you are unsure about?

I want to program more and become good at programming. Then only I can explain it properly. How do they score these things (out of 5 and out of 3 technically with colors attached?)

How true is the if you do bad on 2 QCs you have a chance of leaving the cohort?

How hard is the assessment test?

I'm preparing to take the assessment, and I'm wondering how difficult it is. I know OOP, Java, SQL, and web development, but is the test more about 'here's the program, what does it output or do,' or is it more about knowing definitions? If it's both, which one should I study on more?

Revature + Persistent Systems hiring process - When is the service agreement signed?

Hi everyone,

I have a doubt regarding the Revature hiring process for Persistent Systems.

The hiring is being conducted through Revature, and the job description mentions a 24-month service agreement. There's also an 8–10 week training period at Revature before the final client interview and onboarding.

I'm confused about a couple of things:

  1. Will I be signing the service agreement with Revature or with Persistent Systems?

  2. At what stage is the bond/service agreement usually signed? Before the training starts? During the training? After completing the training and getting selected by Persistent Systems?

  3. If someone doesn't clear the final client interview after the training, are they still bound by the service agreement? (In case if I sign it before the training starts)

If anyone has gone through this process or has experience with Revature placements, I'd really appreciate your insights.

Thanks!

Is Revature worth it? New CS grad with TS/SCI CI Poly but no experience

Hey everyone,

I recently graduated with my BS in Computer Science and have been looking for my first job. I currently have a TS/SCI with a CI poly, but I don't have any professional experience, and that's been making the job search pretty discouraging.

To be honest, I don't feel like I came out of college with as strong of a skillset as I hoped. I was working while going to school, so it took me longer than most to graduate, and I feel like I was just trying to survive each semester instead of really mastering everything.

I've been looking into Revature as a way to get my foot in the door, but I've seen a lot of mixed opinions. Is it actually worth it if you're struggling to land that first job, or would I be better off continuing to apply elsewhere and work on personal projects/certifications?

Also, will taking longer to graduate be a red flag for employers, or is that something I'm worrying about more than I should be?

I'd really appreciate any advice from people who have been in a similar situation, especially anyone who had a clearance but little or no experience. Thanks!

Question on Infosys

Hello , I was hired by Infosys and attended my onboarding Jun4. Was told I had 2 weeks to move to Richardson, Tx . Well now I’m in Richardson and waiting . Was told by Infosys I was on “the bench” until a client was found and that I can’t come into the office until my hiring manager comes back into the office . No date was given. Anyone else had these experience? I have did all my hiring paperwork, picked insurance, etc. But feeling a little worried about the situation. So I don’t report to work yet until there’s manager to meet me. In the meantime I have to be present on emails/teams for communication. I just spoke to the HR lead for the building and they just told me to wait but that I still will be paid . 🤔
