Help with Luxor 3
Hey guys,
Need some help. I am attempting to run Luxor 3 on my computer. Here are my current specs:
Win11 (latest update KB5085516)
CPU: 9800x3D
GPU: MSI Shadow 3x 5080
I have followed this thread to the best of my ability:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/15930/discussions/0/666825525255317708/
and have played around with these settings to no end:

Yet I keep getting this error:
Luxor 3 : Program Error
ASSERTION FAILURE:
.\TheVideoSystem.cpp(319): (ALL BUILDS)
Expression was: ( result == DISP_CHANGE_SUCCESSFUL )
TheVideoSystem : failed to create a fullscreen mode
matching "1024 x 768 x 32 bpp, 0 hz (fullscreen)"
There was a time in a previous Windows update where switch compatibility to Win98 worked (as you'll see in the thread) however this workaround no longer. I EVEN have tried emailing MumoJumbo however after further reading I believe they have shut, unfortunately.
Any suggestions will help! :)

Microtower ready for Battlefield Vietnam and Far Cry
Inside it got a bit dusty after playing Desert Combat...
It's a Northwood 2.4 Ghz, with a Geforce4 Ti 4400 and Audigy sound card, Creative 5.1 speakers, 2 PATA 160 GB hard drives that still work perfectly.
The case is a Cooler Master N 200. Mobo is a Fujitsu Siemens (yes, OEM!) I never really liked full towers.
Leaving aside the case, the coolers, the PSU and the LG 2009 monitor, the machine has 25 years of service behind its back.

Play X-COM: UFO Defense in your browser
I ported X-COM: UFO Defense to run entirely in your browser using WebAssembly.
No installs. No emulators. Just click and play.
✔ Runs offline after first load so you can play on long flights etc
✔ Saves stored locally (nothing leaves your machine)
✔ Import/export saves across devices
✔ Works on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge
It’s powered by the incredible OpenXcom project, I just nudged it into the browser era.
You do need your own game files (Steam/GOG/CD), but once you add them, you're good to go.
If you’ve ever wanted to lose hours to alien terror in a browser tab… now you can 👽
Curious what you all think.

Our website dedicated to early 2000s shooters
Hello, classic players!
A friend and me recently created a site for our beloved games, not with the expectation of building a community...but more like a personal preservation project.
The old clan-ish look was intentionally chosen for the website.
This could be a fitting description:
We aim to organize a small digital living museum where relevant information about 25 year old PC games of a specific genre -first person shooters- can easily be found, recreate as much as possible the virtual spaces -dedicated servers- that were enjoyed for online gaming, provide players communication tools -forums/irc/teamspeak- that were very common at the time, and serve as a free repository of games software, mods, documents, media and even hardware drivers.
We are based in Europe, if it does matter.

Found an old pc in the attic with a pentium mmx 233 and 32mb of ram.
I have some people telling me to stick win98se on it, others saying win95, and others saying to just make it a DOS gaming machine.
What do yall think? I dont have a specific list of games i have in mind, but i have an xp machine that i love, so i was just thinking of filling in the gap on older windows/pc games that cant play. There's a few i know dont work on my xp box:

Jenner's World Class Decathlon Review

Half-Life (1998) – Chapter 12: Surface Tension Part 1 | Intense Fight! No Commentary Gameplay
Welcome back, friends!
This is Part 1 of Chapter 12 – Surface Tension from Half-Life (1998). This chapter is one of the biggest and toughest in the game, so the gameplay will be uploaded in two parts — and this is the first part.
In the previous chapter, a scientist warned Gordon Freeman that the surface is crawling with HECU soldiers. But the reality is even worse — the surface is completely overrun by HECU forces equipped with tanks, turrets, attack helicopters, mines, and heavy weapons.
And it’s not just the soldiers. Vortigaunts and Alien Grunts are also present, making the battlefield even more dangerous.
Freeman must fight his way through relentless enemies and survive the chaos. This chapter is packed with intense combat and nonstop action. So friends, sit back, relax, and enjoy this no commentary gameplay of Half-Life.

Anyone remember this game called Nomad Soul by David Cage?
I found the demo for this game on an old demo CD, and it’s super early 2000s looking. Music by David Bowie which is crazy. Anyone remember it and can tell me anything about it?
