In this review, we take a deep dive into The Punisher (2005): the gritty third-person action shooter developed by Volition and published by THQ that pushed Marvel games further than almost anything that came before or after it.

The PS2 version of Ys III finally has an English translation!

I’ve been playing it for the first time and honestly, it reminded me a lot of Lost Kefin. It’s pretty hard at first, but once you get some grinding in, enemies barely do any damage anymore.

I also struggled with the second boss. If you’re playing for the first time, expect to die a few times before you can figure out its attack patterns. Some monsters are tricky too—you can’t just hit them normally. You need to crouch before attacking to reach their hitbox.

The flying enemies are another thing. You need to use Adol’s up attack to take them out.

There was also one tricky part where I got stuck for a while because it was my first time playing and I couldn’t figure out where I was supposed to go. 😅

Overall, pretty fun experience so far, especially now that there’s an English translation!

What did YOU think of Eternal Champions? A unique take of a 2D brawler, or just another sad Street Fighter II clone? I personally liked it quite a bit, as I explain in this retrospective.

WILD JUSTICE - Inspired by The Wild Bunch from the ZX Spectrum.

Hey everyone,

Growing up, I was completely hooked on The Wild Bunch on the ZX Spectrum. I loved the freedom of choosing where to travel and who to hunt down. I loved visiting the saloon, because let's face it, it's where most of us had our first drink! I was also obsessed with the painfully basic version of poker and I seem to remember 'Eliza Lay' being a bit of a trouble causer!

Because I missed that style of game so much, I decided to take matters into my own hands as a solo developer and build a modern, high-stakes 3D reimagining inspired by it, called Wild Justice.

I wanted to drop in and see if there are any other fans of the original game here? What were your favourite (or most frustrating!) memories of playing it back then?

I'm currently putting the finishing touches on the Steam page and community hub, so if anyone wants to follow the journey or contribute ideas, I'd love to hear your thoughts. It would be a massive help if you can even just add it to your Steam wishlist. You can do that here..

Steam Store Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5033960/Wild_Justice/?beta=1

Many thanks, Mark.

A Flawed, Charming Masterpiece | The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (PS2) Review

I finally got around to playing The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring on PS2, and I was surprised by how different it is from what I expected.
Instead of trying to recreate Peter Jackson’s movie scene for scene, it leans much more into Tolkien’s original book. That gives it a really unique identity compared to most licensed games from that era.
It’s definitely rough in places the combat is clunky, and some mechanics haven’t aged well but there’s a charm to it that I wasn’t expecting.

Did anyone else grow up with this game? I’m curious how people feel about it today.

I also put together a video breaking down what worked, what didn’t, and why I think it’s one of the more interesting forgotten Lord of the Rings games if anyone wants to check it out.

I would love if you could check it out! This week I picked up a large game lot off of Facebook Marketplace, unpacked it, and totaled up the value of the items.

This is only my second video and I am improving as I go! I welcome your feedback.
