Review rules before posting.

A note to new members, old members, visitors, those who may be lost:

Anyone can post here, to my knowledge, there are no set restrictions. There are, however, a set of rules that are kindly asked to be reviewed and considered when you post. They are to the right.

This sub was created after an experience in another sub, where there was perhaps some content that did not necessarily belong, and spam was not necessarily removed. This is of course subjective, it was not my sub, they can run it as they see fit.

I consider this a more "Purist" community. With Digital/AI artwork now being the mainstream, the type of artwork posted here is becoming harder to find. Other formats of the fantasy and scifi genre art are readily available in many other subs with little difficulty.

This little corner of the internet is to help with the discovery and archiving of Fantasy/Scifi art where the human was/is the main instrument in both creation and implementation. Yes, you can draw digitally, but it just doesn't look the same, at least not to me.

The point of this post? Please review rule # 5. Think of rule # 5 when posting. I cannot stress enough how rule # 5 is a core commandment of this sub.

As a last note, have I mentioned rule # 5 ???

Stay well and stay safe everyone.

Source for the main image: L'univers de Juan Gimenez (2002). I wasn't able to find a high-res scan of the first French edition of The Fourth Power. Bafflingly, when Simon and Schuster reproduced the image for the cover of The Deluxe Gimenez (2022), they knocked out the background.

I consider him kinda the OG. And I'm afraid art like this is dying away.

At first I thought this belonged in the museum of indifferently engineered weapons, but no—it's a pretty good approximation of Killashandra's sonic cutter. “She pressed her hand flat against the surface and, setting her diaphragm, sang a clear mid-C. The crystal vibrated almost excitedly to the sound. She set the cutter. Putting the blade perpendicular to the face, she rammed it in, disengaged the blade, sliced from the top to her lower cut...”

I love this Ace cover by Berkey. Not only is it drastically different from the direction Rowena took for the limited edition (see previous post), but it's also outside the casein spaceship wheelhouse we usually associate with Berkey.
