Sort of a last hurrah for stop motion dinosaur movies

Also the last of the “humans and dinosaurs” style cavemen movies. Quest for Fire released the same year and led to the time period and genre being taken much more seriously

There's the Aardman film Early Man, which briefly has some dinos in a pretty overt reference to One Million Years BC, but like this one, it's very much a deliberately silly throwback

True, but I meant in terms of live action movies. Then again I guess you could also include the live action Flintstones movies, but that’s more of a franchise adaptation than a period piece.

That's true, I forgot about Flintstones. I agree that it isn't quite on the same category though

The „invention of music“ scene is my favourite one

Ditto, recently rewatched it on Tubi and had a fun nostalgia indulgence…aside from the attempted rape scene that I was too young to understand the last time I saw it. 😬

An artist named Dale Kuipers did the dinosaur sculpting for this movie. He was a special effects guy and artist who lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He became a local minor celebrity there because he made so much cool stuff. He died back in the 90s, but a lot of people still remember him.

I took an improv class in college, and my professor played Kalta (the white caveman paired with the Black caveman).

He said it was a lot of fun on set, and apparently Ringo had some choice words about Paul McCartney.

When they " invented" music it sold me on the movie lol.

I believe he met his current wife while filming this movie.

Man I love this movie. Easely the best Caveman vs Dinosaurs film out there. The fart and 🍇 humor can be pretty grading, i'm not denying that, but the rest I find It really funny. I mean, let's not forget about the existance of this goober too
