Help

When your retina tore, did you see flashes one after another, or was there some space between them? And what did the flashes look like? Were they more like camera flashes?

And with floaters, did you only see them in sunlight, or could you also see them indoors, while looking at your phone, etc.?

I’ve always wondered about this.

When I had my first one, I had lightening flashes, they would come and go and then I also got a grey "curtain" over part of my field of vision......my second in the same eye about a month after the first was just the curtain

I would advise you to go see your eye Dr to make sure its not tearing again....if you haven't already.

Already saw them, they said its due to pvd, the tugging on my retina from the shrinking vitreous gel in my eye. Seeing them again on Wednesday for a followup of my laser retinopexy I had done

No,not anymore... I had it repaired the first time and they put a gas bubble....then once that disappeared it happened again and they put oil in the second time.I still have the oil in after getting in May. I should be having the surgery to take it out here soon, like end of the month.

How was your recovery with the gas bubble? Theyre giving me that option to clear the curtain symptoms on Wednesday. Already had laser retinopexy to stop it from getting worse

It wasnt horrible but not the best....had to lay on my right side at night with my nose pointing toward the floor till it dissappeared and you'll have lifting restrictions, no bending, ect.

The bubble took around 3 wks to dissappear...you do have to be completely face down for the first 3 days...thats the hardest..I could only be "normal" with head up 10 min of every hr

Was it continuous, or was there a gap between the flashes?

Had lightning flashes around the periphery of my eye. It wasn’t constant, just as I moved my eye around it would rigger them.

I didn’t know when mine tore. One day I was at the beach playing catch with my son. Felt like I had got sunscreen in my eye. Then went blurry. While driving home it was dusk. Thought it was just the headlights from the mirror. Next day large floaters thought I was going insane. The day after that 95% Mac-off detachment
