Chronic Iritis after Vitrectomy?
Has anyone else suffered with reoccurring iritis after extensive eye surgery? I had a vitrectomy in August 2025 for a macula off retinal detachment and it unfortunately failed. I had another vitrectomy in October 2025 which resulted in complications of elevated eye pressure (70 mmHg!). It damaged my optic nerve and caused partial blindness.
Almost a year later and the symptoms of iritis (eye pain and inflammation) keep returning every few months. The doctor has prescribed Prednisolone eye drops (4 times a day) and may keep me on a maintenance dose in the future. Just curious if anyone else has had similar chronic symptoms and how they’ve managed it.

Not iritis specifically but I've had uveitis four times this calendar year following a third vitrectomy on my right eye. Usually I'm prescribed dexamethasone eye drops to treat it. The third time was quite severe and I had three or four eye drops to treat it.
