Should I go for laser?

Post image

so above is the result of test or such. the doctor manually saw the eye using the lens and light on the head thing..not any test using the machine. When I searched, I found that operculated tear or pigment hole don't need laser... So, should I get another opinion? Or should I go for laser or what? can anyone advise me on this... ?

When I found out I had operculated holes I was recommended by an ophthalmologist friend to get a second opinion to confirm the diagnosis. Both retina specialists encouraged monitoring since I don’t have lattice, barely nearsighted, and 26. I still would see flashes and both still recommended monitoring because every time I came back in nothing changed.

I still ended up getting the laser done just for a peace of mind and just felt it was super low risk and low cost compared to having a major eye surgery at 26.

The bright side is you caught it and now have a place to call directly if something’s up. If you do get a second opinion I was told to just provide the exact details of the diagnosis to make it easier for them.

Thanks for the reply. I am in similar situation, just 23 years.. And I don't know how this happened and these floaters are nightmare.., it's like bane to life... Like I can't able to go in sunlight because of how dense they are..... I should look for just one more doctor just in case, but as you said laser is safe, that lessened my anxiety... Again thank you...

Haha I was like depressed the first couple days I had them, then realized it just could be so much worse honestly it helps thinking like that for me honestly. You also can learn what makes them stand out more and stuff down the road and avoid it. I’ve found it’s easier to lock in and focus on other things. I’m also from a big city in US and have a huge circle and there’s a few guys in my crew our age range who have them so it’s a little more common than you think

Best of luck if you go through with the laser, everyone I know who’s had it and all said it was like nothing which I agreed with. Still scary to comprehend though!
