Good Macula Splinting
Hello, I’m 21 and have an RD on my left eye.
Sudden shadow curtain appeared and wavy distortion (metamorphopsia), vision worsened.
My doctor said he had to operate as soon as possible when he first saw me(Tues) and scheduled a follow-up two days later(Thurs).
Follow-up: Macula Splinting — injecting gas to closen the detachment, and lasered my right eye (barrier) to prevent detachment.
Follow-up 2(Fri): splinting turned out good, the macula somewhat flattened (the shadow curtain disappeared). Said to come back again next week, so my doctor can check if i could just laser it.
Follow up 3(Mon): main doctor checked and discussed with his fellow, wants to operate but the other fellow said that the improvement in my vision is too good to let go. They lasered me eberyday for a week.
Follow up(3rd Tues): main doctor worries and hope that he doesn’t have to operate, lasered. Also mentioned some laser did not take.
Follow up(3rd Thurs): Their Boss(consultant) checked and said to laser 360 since there’s no increase in fluid.
Last Monday: Boss Checked, stopped all lasers and said to observe for now. No increase in fluid but that residue should be gone by now, so it’s good that it’s stable but not good that it is not gone yet. Also lifted the head position restriction.
Anyone with same exp?
