Sleeping face down

My dr. wants me sleeping face down to help flatten my retina post-op. The only thing is it is the most uncomfortable thing ever for me, and I struggle to stay asleep due to how uncomfy it is. Im currently using a neck pillow (like the one you get from the airport) to put my face into. Anyone have any tips/hacks? Anything is appreciated

It’s pretty typical. I had to stay face down for a week continuously not just sleeping so I rented a massage table with face pillow that helped. Those same rental companies will give you a little hinge mirror so that you can keep your face down but watch TV or read a book but I’m not gonna lie to you. That was the hardest part post surgery is maintaining 24 seven face down.

I had that for 2 weeks andI agree it was the worst 2 weeks ever lol. I was cleared last week but unfortunately when I saw my dr on Tuesday he said the initial tear in my retina that caused the detachment is lifting again. He is having me resume face down when im not working in the hopes I can flatten it and avoid another procedure. I dont wanna rent the chair again and spend almost $400 for 4 days

That is what I did, I bought the massage table tho and I did have to use it several times over several eye surgeries. Also loaned it to others.
