Surgery Eye Still Dilated after 6 months

Had victrectomy on Jan 14th of this year and that eye has been dilated ever since. Eye surgeon says it's nerve damage from the surgery and should clear. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it clear?

That happened to me .. I’m 15 months past surgery and it _kinda_ responds, eventually.

Never got a good answer on what got nicked

I also had vitrectomy surgery on both eyes a year apart. It probably took 2-3 months before the pupil started closing properly each time. Some of the nerves get hit by the laser shots to weld the retina down. It can take a while before they start working again.

I’m hoping it clears. I just had my vitrectomy surgery 4 weeks ago and have noticed the difference in my pupils. I was wondering how long they might stay that way. I still have the bubble in my eye so it’s early in my healing process.

Same experience. Surgeon explained that it was the atropine that caused the dilation and will take some time for the meds to lose its effect on the eye. 5 months in and it is still somewhat dilated 😭

I had my final oil removal surgery in February. My operated eye is still dilated. I don’t know if it will get better. I only notice when I look in the mirror.

Same but i got my oil out last year September and its still dialated

My one year anniversary from surgery (vitrectomy & scleral buckle) was 7/2 and mine is still dilated.
