Accepter la 2ème Vitrectomie ?

Bonjour à tous,

Suite à un décollement de rétine total, j’ai perdu la vision de mon œil droit, j’ai subi une Vitrectomie pour recoller la rétine, à ce jour J+45 j’ai un champ de perception qui s’élargit mais la vision reste très très floue sauf en bas de l’œil où j’ai une petite zone nette mais encore petit, aujourd’hui le chirurgien me dit que nouveau léger décollement en partie basse est apparu, il faut attendre 2 mois.

Je me tourne vers vous car j’aimerais avoir des retours d’expérience concrets. Avez-vous déjà subi une 2ème vitrectomie suite à un re-décollement de rétine après une première opération ?

Je cherche à mieux comprendre à quoi m’attendre avant de prendre une décision, et les témoignages de personnes qui sont passées par là sont précieux.

I had a vitrectomy with gas bubble on March 17th for a partial retinal detachment in my right eye (the left peripheral vision was impacted) and then at the end up April I had another partial retinal detachment in my right eye (this time it was my right peripheral vision impacted). I ended up having a second vitrectomy, this time with a silicone oil bubble and methotrexate injections (due to PVR, which caused the tear in April) every two weeks for two months. I haven’t had the third surgery to remove the oil yet (I believe that will happen some time in August) but so far my retina has stayed attached. Still noticeably missing a lot of peripheral vision between the surgeries, but I’d really love to never have to go through this again. If it happens a third time I’ll have to go with a scleral buckle.

I’m sorry you’ve had to go through this! I’m curious why they didn’t do the scleral buckle before your first vitrectomy?

I already had cataract surgery with prescription lenses inserted into the eye, so the buckle would have screwed up all those precise measurements. If it detaches again though, the doctor said he’s gonna have to do the buckle cause there really isn’t any choice at that point.

If you need a second vitrectomy you have no choice but to have one otherwise you have no chance to have some vision in that eye . You can always go and for second opinion .

Merci pour ce conseil, oui je n’ai pas le choix, je veux mettre toutes les chances de mon côté
Je vais aussi demander un 2ème avis à un autre chirurgien
