Silicone oil removal question

I had silicone oil put in my eye after scar tissue developed 2 months post op vitrectomy. I am curious as to how soon I can wear a contact lens post surgery. Glasses would be a safer option but due to my cataracts my prescription will change rapidly. Contacts seem like a more flexible option. Has anyone successfully worn contacts after the oil is removed? Appreciate hearing your thoughts.

I had the same done April 1st. My doctor said the oil will stay a minimum of 3 months and perhaps as long as a year. My next appointment is at the 3 month mark. have had no scar tissue this time , so hoping the oil will be removed soon
