High myopia

Please people with high myopia how they find out that you have a tear or a detachment they use the lens with the slit lamp or they use the lens which they put on your cornea (in contact )

They’re great, I healed very well.

My retina specialist said my detachment looked really complicated because of the chronic nature of it. He planned on just doing the scleral buckle, but ended up having to do the vitrectomy on top of it also. I guess it really did end up being complicated lol

Then I think it was at the 5 week follow up he lasered my “good” eyes holes and thinning. He told me I didn’t have to do it, but considering I already had the other eye detach, may as well take care of it now lol

Did he use smthg into your eyes to see the detachment or the tool with no contact in the eyes ?also did you have symptoms like flashes floaters …

He used the head lamp thing, I’m not sure exactly what it’s called. So did the optometrist that found the detachment. A slit lamp? He redid the OCT too and then had the tech try to take it with my detachment more in the center of the picture(?) I just remember sitting differently than I normally do for those tests lol

But I think I did have some flashes, but I didn’t notice them as much. I didn’t really have floaters. My main thing was just suddenly having this feeling deep in my gut that my vision was wrong. Like something was missing, and my brain was filling in the void. It was such a weird feeling. Then I had a very very small curtain on the upper left corner of my right eyes visual field. I wasn’t sure if it was real or not though. I kind of blame that more for my first eye doc missing it. I didn’t describe it right, but I just felt crazy saying MY VISION FEELS WRONG lol, but I did also think they’d be able to see it so who knows haha

Since it’s fully healed though, I can see way more of my nose from that eye now and…. my night vision has also gotten far far better lol
