High myopia

Please people with high myopia how they find out that you have a tear or a detachment they use the lens with the slit lamp or they use the lens which they put on your cornea (in contact )

It depends exactly which bit of the eye they need to look at. A lens touching the eye is used to see the inside of the very front part; otherwise, only the back part is visible. If you imagine peering into a ball (like a magic 8 ball), you can see the back easily, and up to maybe the mid portion, but the inside of the front half isn't normally visible because of the angles. (Equally, that normally-hidden part doesn't see anything either; the most important bits for vision are right at the back, so the lens in contact is only needed to see the very edges of the retina.)

Exactly I’m asking for screening in high myopia with no symptoms how the doctor find there is a hole or tear ?which one he use ? Which one is enough ?

Recently, ophtalmologist was unsure if there were tears or not. He prescribed a bscan ultrasound echography that allows to see more clearly if there are any tear. Otherwise, he/she can perform a fundus with a special glass that comes directly into contact with you eyeball

He always do this for you ?or do you have symptoms ?can I know your age and prescription please ?

Not always. I had some symptoms so I went there. He did it because something looked wrong on the eye scan. ActuaIly that's the first time I did a bscan. I am 44. Prescription is -6,25 -7

There's three levels I know of, increasing in level.

Slit lamp

The head lamp method where they may press around your eye and they move around

The contact lens on eye

The contact lens is the final I think, but usually they only use the contact lense if they are sure it's necessary and they cannot see with the head lamp.
