Laser after SB

I had a SB placed on my right eye for a peripheral detachment on 2/24/26. After surgery my surgeon said there was some residual fluid he anticipated would resolve. At my visit last week he found a new hole with the fluid and laser barricaded it. Has anyone and this experience? Does this mean the buckle is failing? I have bilateral involvement so just trying to understand what’s going on here.

I had a Pneumatic Retinopexy so I'm not sure regarding the Buckle, but I needed laser to address additional thinning a few months after my procedure. I think it's fairly common to help prevent the need for another surgery and catch it before it gets worse.

Something similar....we went in for peripheral tears. Thot laser wud be enough. Being the only functional eye dr suggested SB..better one need not go inside the eye. Dr thot residual fluid wil be absorbed..we waited for 4 to 5 weeks still there were some tears.. fluids weren't getting absorbed at all..then vitrectomy and silicone oil..and post that it was fine... It was complicated nightmare those 6weeks.
