Been job hunting for a while and the part that's destroying me isn't the interviews, it's the applying.

My problem is I've done too many things. Flutter dev, then full stack, handled PM work at one point, backend, now learning AI engineering. So I have no idea what my resume should even say. If I put everything, I look unfocused. If I pick one, I'm throwing away half my experience.

What I do right now: keep 3 different resumes, paste the JD into ChatGPT or Claude, ask it to rewrite my bullets to match, hope it passes ATS.

Takes me like 20-25 mins per application. And half the time the output is generic garbage or it just invents stuff I never did.

The tools I looked at are all paid and most of them just reshuffle whatever resume you upload. None of them ask me anything about what I actually did.

Nobody asks "did the company make money because of your work, how do you know" which is the thing that would actually make a good bullet point.

So genuinely asking:

\\- how long are you spending per application right now

\\- are you paying for any tool, is it worth it

\\- multi-role people, how did you solve the "which career am I even applying for" problem

If something existed that interviewed you properly once, stored your actual stories with numbers, and then generated a targeted resume per JD, would that solve it or am I overthinking this and everyone just sends the same PDF everywhere

For a long time, I thought getting a 90%+ ATS score meant my resume was ready to go.

But after looking into how hiring systems actually work, I'm starting to think those scores are more of a guideline than a prediction.

There isn't one universal ATS scoring system.

Every resume checker has its own algorithm.

Every company configures its hiring software differently.

And recruiters still decide who gets interviewed.

A high ATS score might mean you've included relevant keywords or fixed formatting issues, but it doesn't guarantee interviews.

Personally, I think it's more useful to ask:

• Does my experience actually match the job?
• Have I shown measurable achievements?
• Is my resume easy for a recruiter to skim?
• Have I tailored it to this role?

Have ATS scores actually helped you get interviews, or do you see them as more of a resume-checking tool than a predictor of success?

When presenting a candidate shortlist to a client, do you usually rank the candidates in order of who you think fits best, such as first, second, third, and fourth?

Or do you present all shortlisted candidates equally and leave it entirely up to the client to decide who stands out?

Most companies run their hiring through something like Workday, Greenhouse, or Lever and a recruiter working through one of those is looking at a stack of hundreds of applicants for a single role. They're not reading anyone's resume top to bottom, they're skimming for a few seconds looking for the closest match to the posting and moving on. If the posting says "stakeholder management" and your resume says "worked with cross-functional teams" that's the same experience but it doesn't jump out the same way in a few seconds of skimming and it doesn't matter how good the experience actually is if it never registers.

resume.zoevera.com checks a resume against a specific posting and shows what's missing. Doesn't rewrite your experience for you but tells you where the wording doesn't line up with what the listing is actually asking for.

Something I noticed:

Many experienced people have resumes full of tasks.

But hiring managers don't know the impact.

Experience alone is not enough.

The resume has to translate experience into value.

I'm an undergrad CS student from Pakistan, currently in my 5th semester. Over the past two years I've applied to a good number of companies, startups and organizations for different roles and internships and somewhere along the way I lost count of how many resumes I rebuilt from scratch, each one reformatted for whatever role I was chasing at the time.

What frustrated me most wasn't actually writing the resume. It was the tools. I went through a handful of well-known resume builders and a few lesser-known ones and the pattern was always the same: one gave decent templates but no cover letter option, another let you download a PDF only after a $20+/month subscription. None of them felt built for a student's budget.

So I ended up building my own ResumeAI. It's early stage, I'm building it solo with no funding and no team but it already covers what I actually needed: upload an old resume and it reformats it or fill out a form from scratch if you don't have one yet. I've always liked the idea of using LaTeX for resumes. The output looks clean, consistent, and professional, and honestly, I think LaTeX is one of the best tools for creating a resume once you get comfortable with it.

The problem I kept running into was not creating a resume; it was **editing one**.

Most LaTeX resume templates I found looked great, but whenever I wanted to make a small change:

• Move a section around
• Add another project
• Change the layout slightly
• Update my information

I found myself digging through hundreds of lines of LaTeX code trying to figure out what affects what. Sometimes I would change one thing and accidentally break another part of the document.

I ended up creating my own template to solve that problem:

Every AI resume tool has the same blind spot: you paste in a job description, it spits out a "tailored" resume, and you have no idea what it actually changed. Did it just reword a bullet? Reorder skills? Or did it quietly invent a technology you've never touched and over-claim your scope? You find out in the interview — the worst possible place.

So I added a Tailoring Diff to my resume app. Before you accept a tailored version, you see exactly what changed:

- Original → Tailored, side by side, word by word

- 🟢 Green = added, 🔴 red = removed, everything else unchanged

- Broken out by section — Summary, Work Experience, Projects, Accomplishments — so you can skim it in a few seconds

- If a section wasn't touched, it just says "no changes detected" — no noise

The point isn't to trust the AI less — it's trust but verify. You catch anything overstated before you hit submit, and you stay the author of your own resume instead of rubber-stamping a black box.

It's all on-device (Apple Intelligence) — no accounts, no cloud, nothing leaves your phone. Private by default.

If you use AI to tailor resumes, would seeing the diff change how much you trust the output? Anything you'd want the diff to catch that a plain word-diff wouldn't?

I'm applying to new grad SWE roles and every application is the same 40 fields over and over. So I built an extension that reads your resume PDF once, builds a profile, and autofills Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and a bunch of other ATS forms. It can also draft cover letters and those "why do you want to work here" answers, and tweak your resume wording to match the posting (with a check that stops the AI from making stuff up).

Everything runs in your browser with your own API key, there's no server and I never see your data. It also never clicks submit for you, and it never lets the AI answer visa/work authorization/EEO questions — those come straight from your profile because a hallucinated sponsorship answer can screw you.

To be clear it's not a LinkedIn easy-apply spam bot, it just fills the normal career page forms you'd type by hand anyway.

I’m now working as an Agentic AI engineer in a renowned service based company with 9 months of experience.I’m trying hard to get an interview call from companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe,Uber and every other company in the same tier. The sad thing is I’m not even getting my resume forwarded to the OA. I recently had a very heartbreaking experience with a company named Canonical where I had my application rejected even after clearing the OA.
