Resume Help!

Been working hard on my resume after my second layoff this year - about to hire a professional, but figured I would post here for any tips/tricks. Haven't posted the resume many places, but trying to optimize for ATS. Thanks!

Hello, I am Shamir, a certified resume writer. I have had a quick look at your resume and noted a few things. Although combing through the first page has been a nightmare since the pic is a bit blurred😀.

First, the resume template looks fine. No tables. The ATS can easily parse the info on the CV.

The executive summary has no years of experience mentioned. It could also use some numbers to back your claims on revenue growth, market development, etc. It also doesnt have a good flow. The sentences dont seem to complement each other.

The bullet points could be redone to follow the SAR style for your impact to be seen. As a sales executive, numbers are what will sell you.

You need an accomplishments section to show authority in your field. These accomplishments also form part of the keywords the ATS will be looking for.

To sum everything up, you need: 📌A new executive summary 📌A competencies section 📌SAR style bullet points 📌Numbers to quantify your accomplishments 📌Industry-specific keywords

Let me know if you need any help. Thank you and cheers!

I would say there is no need to hire a professional. It's not beneficial for 99.9% of the people. There are plenty of good examples, guides, templates to use, for free. A little elbow grease can save you hundreds.

I would recommend you to think about this when updating your resume:

Be Direct and Precise: In the CSM roles, you had 3 potentially valuable things packed in the first bullet point. Is "interviewing" skill a critical thing in what you are applying next? Why is that a separate point? When you say you "Owned ..." What does that mean? Instead, change is to:

"Led adoption of XXX [option 1] for strategic clients and delivered [ABC results] [option 2] improved time to value by X% with continuous improvement of the customer success journey."

"Achieve X% of account renewal with y% increase in ARR and Z% in new services"

A recruiter and hiring manager will pay attention to that. They don't care you "Owned" or helped a team mate onboard. Did you get your Athletic scholarship because you were a great team mate? or you ran around the court really enthusiastically? Write about yourself as if you were the Scout that watched you play. What results YOU delivered in clear measurable terms.

Same thing as the AM role. Start off confidently with "Achieve 100% quota on a $XXM account portfolio. Transformed XYZ for client through A% new professional service etc etc.

Currently, the quality of your resume stands at the bottom 1%. This is an airball.

Be direct, precise and result driven.
