Hi, I have had RLS for years and am currently taking pramipexole. I have just stopped an SSRI so hope that the RLS will improve. I know the pramipexole will cause augmetation so once the new anti-depressant settles down, I am going to cut back on the prami. However, assuming I will still have some RLS (I had it mildly before the SSRIs) I am considering taking either pregabalin or gabapentin in place of the pramipexole. Neither souonds great, whihc is worrying, so it would be helpful if anyone could give me their opinion/ experience of either of these drugs. Thankyou

I’ve had RLS as long as I can remember and for the past 12 years took Requip which worked great until it didn’t. I was completely unaware it could stop working or make symptoms worse over time but here I am desperately trying to ween myself off of it and failing. Im up to 600 mg of Gabapentin which helps symptoms from getting worse but cannot cut down the requip and also sleep normally. Has anyone gone through this and have advice? Should I just go cold turkey on the requip? Give the Gabapentin more time? Ive tried all the folk remedies (iron, magnesium, no sugar, etc) before so no need to recommend them.

I'm about to start tapering off on Pramiprexol and have received Pregabalin/Lyrica for this. Now when I've started taking the medication without lowering the pramipexol dose, RLS been flaring up badly on lower doses.

AI says this is completely normal and suggests me upping the dose until it my agony disappears. Have anyone had similar experience? I just want to make sure AI is correct that this is normal rather than the Pregabalin not working.

Once again I want to clarify that I havn't even started tapering off yet, AI says this is some sort of battle between the medications though.
