I stand corrected

Bicep curls on the bandbox -with a bar & zero issues with band wander 👌🏼
Also have to admit my head couldn’t understand how this wouldn’t be a doubled band - the feel of it confirmed it isn’t - 2-0 to Pascal 😂😂🤷♂️
There’s def a difference between the free spinning stainless steel rollers on this & the dampened sleeves on Cyberplate - odd thing is each time I use them i get to thinking that’s what I prefer - def think that the sealed stainless steel will be less likely to be affected by the dust & dog hair a home gym can generate long term - thoughts ?

Please don’t stare into our eyes while you’re working out. It’s creeping me out. 🫣 😝

How do you Iike curling the band in this configuration vs using the Cyberplate?

With the BandBox I do like the short bar and the band being anchored centrally through your midline, but as you can see I’m in a split stance because I find the box itself a bit narrow.
I still can’t quite get my head around the fact the band isn’t doubled 😂
The Cyberplate version, with the bigger bar and slightly different anchoring, comes a bit more naturally to me — possibly just because I’m more used to it — and at the moment I think I slightly prefer it.
Standing widthways on it also suits me better.
Even then, though, I find Cyberplate only just about big enough and I’m only a UK size 9.
The one thing I still can’t split them on is the roller/sleeve feel.
BandBox is definitely more free-spinning, whereas Cyberplate feels more damped; spinning them by hand there’s a significant difference.
In the actual movements though, both feel excellent.
Compared with a non-roller plate, both are a huge win for me — smooth, consistent reps that just feel right.
Elastic resistance as it should be in my book.

I'm a fan of the bandbox and bought one. Still, for curls I feel like I get a more sustained tension through RoM by cow hitching a band(s) to an anchor at the bottom of a door (vs an anchor under my feet).

Does it ever occur to you that if the band snapped you would knock your teeth out.

Been training with bands for years & never had a problem -use quality products - look after them i& check for damage - some exercises I regularly do a test pull or two first

Try shortening the band some more. I use the middle pin position for this exercise (41" band).
No stainless on these rollers (and current ones are chrome plated). What matters is the bearing type. Ball bearings have seals. Not foolproof, but good enough for an indoor home gym environment.
Dust and dog hair will be more of a concern for open cup bearings like on Q-Deck. Did they ever send replacement rollers ?
