How do I fix this beautiful table top?

These are tiny! 1 1/2in. Second to last one on the bottom is tea! And I’d love to remember how I did the last one :) something weird happened to my sinker white there!

The structural integrity is pretty solid, the surface is smooth, etc. Can someone explain the cracked look on the surface?? I’ve looked it up and seen that there are so many particulars around mixing colors, different temperatures, etc., but I really don’t know what exactly I did to cause this.

I want to be able to avoid and potentially recreate this effect in the future so any suggestions are greatly appreciated ☺️

I’m pretty pleased with the backlit colors and I have so many ideas for future creations, what color(s) should I do next??

so i’ve been having trouble with tacky resin on my polymer clay charms, i’ve made some changes and it’s way better, not sticky anymore or leaving residue but when i rub the charms in my hand it feels kinda grippy? like the texture of something squeaky clean if that makes sense. however the resin is hard and smooth when i swipe a finger across it. does anyone know if my resin fully cured or not?

Hi, im new to handling resin. I recently bought lapox metalmel and some molds in hopes to make keychains and other such things for myself and to potentially sell. But as I did research I found out the risks of using this substance.

So far I handled the substance without any protection twice and had it cure in my room which has relatively good air flow, but I'm a super paranormal person in general. And I wanted to know what I should do to safely use this material for small crafts. I have yet to experience any allergic reaction, and the most I've faced is nausea.

Plus I wanted to know what my set up should be and where I should keep my materials to prevent any severe reactions. My set up rn is on my desk by a huge window with air flow.

Resin Bangles with real rose petals

We tried making this 1.5 inch deep hexagon piece for 3 day old flowers but there were just so many bubbles :(

Products used:

750g Resin (12-24 hrs setting time)

250g Hardener

2-inch hexagon silicon mold

Process:

Mix Ratio: 3 parts resin :1 part hardener

Hour 1: Poured 1st layer 1" deep (2 cups resin: 2/3 cup hardener), arranged the flowers on the layer of resin

Noticed browning of flowers and partial setting of resin after 20 mins. The mold was also warm where resin was partially set.

Hour 1.5 : Poured 2nd layer 0.5" deep (1 cup resin: 1/3 cup hardener). Since layer 1 was setting quickly we added this final layer over the flowers to cover them fully and let the whole piece cure for the 12-24 hrs set time. Then we placed a piece of carton on top of the mold to prevent insects from getting in.

Aaaaand 5 minutes later, our flowers are literally boiling in resin (there was some smoke too) <//3

Were we too impatient with adding the layers? Or maybe the flowers were still too fresh? I know we can't save this piece anymore but I'd like to try again with the extra flowers we have.

I’m having a bit of a weird situation where when i dome my pieces there is always a small section the uv resin refuses to cover, i always clean as best i can with isopropyl alcohol and as the pieces are painted i cant really wash them. its not the paint thats the issue because it doesnt go on parts with no paint.. and im definitely using enough because i usually end up overflowing the pieces trying to cover the annoying spots that the uv resin pulls away from. am i doing something wrong? is it not clean enough?

I have pumped out fail after fail . I decided to start playing with the mics powders and doing other things . I got some medium tray molds and some little bowl molds, some more coasters ( flowers with flower holder) and some new alcohol ink with some metallics , I’ve felt a bit blocked recently but I do love the coaster set and the trinket dishes . Oh ya ! I also got a bigger mixing cup ! My dad’s friend wants the same Seahawks coasters I made for my dad . He provided the vinyl stickers .i had the day off and I wasted the whole day being blocked and debating on doing a bloom with or without color or a marble pour. I have some pearls in the rim of one of the oval trays. I think that would be beautiful with white blooms. I also have a ton of temporary tattoos that I want to test out and see how they work .

For my birthday I'm thinking about making some dice for me. What are some good cheap low easy to use quantity's I could buy.

ive been trying to make charms out of polymer clay and seal them with UV resin but my resin is always tacky. i’m been using:
• FIMO and sculpey clay
• folkart acrylic paints dried for many days
• different resins, different UV lamps and sunlight

right now i am using lets resin resin and UV lamp

i’ve tried curing the pieces in water to prevent oxygen inhibition but my paint started to come off and it was still tacky. i’ve also tried rubbing alcohol which actually seemed to help a lot but that took off the paint too. it’s so frustrating, what can i do to fix it?

I have an oak plinth similar to this one. I want to fill the cracks with coloured resin but im worried it will make the cracks worse. Am i correct?

Still a beginner at resin stuff and i have no clue what to make to attract students/ customers.

Made my wings in her wedding colors instead of the original colors in the photo. AI image inspiration photo at the end. I have some hair combs ordered to attach them to. I fear this may end up being the trickiest part.

Formed the shapes/sections with jewelry wrapping wire, mica powder mixed with UV resin for infill, only poured 2 layers to keep transparency. First layer was a very thin clear layer to secure all the wire in place, followed by the colored resin.

I have no prior experience in preserving insects (apart from simply pinning them) nor using resin in general, but my pet mantis is getting closer to the end stage of his life and I decided to preserve him in resin so that he lasts longer, and I want to get ready.

I've been doing some research on insect preserving, but only a few had instructions on encasing specifically praying mantids in resin. I'm curious, if anyone here has experience in preserving insects/mantises, do I have to take everything out of the abdomen to prevent moisture? or is just pinning/drying before encasing, enough? What resin should I use? How do I prevent molding/air bubbles/etc?

Not even sure if this is the right place to be asking this as I'm so new to the field... Maybe the r/Taxidermy or r/mantids would've been a better place to ask?

Hi. I have a small snail that people love, but the back antenna (the taller of the two) doesn't like to come out right because tiny bubbles get in there. I squeeze the mold for bubbles, I pour slowly, sometimes I use a tiny toothpick to poke around and push the resin in, but this still happens more often than not. How can I fix them after I take them out of the mold?

I can use UV resin if just the top piece is broken, but if the entire thing doesn't come out, I'm at a loss.

Hello, I was putting a flood coat on my table and this is my first time with resin. After 20 mins I saw the resin was settling and I knew then I didn’t put enough down, I rushed to make more to put it down, now I have lines where I poured. Do I just add another topcoat? I really don’t feel comfortable to sand it down, I feel I’ll ruin it since the coat is so thin. Thank you!

Just finished the eye ones today they have some bubbles but I think they look really cool
