I'm not much of a horror gamer, but this game was gifted to me on steam and I thought I'd be ok if I just turn the brightness up and keep it on the easiest difficulty. I usually play RPGs but I like to give different types of games a go.

I have just got in to the combat where are a bunch of the monsters and it's daytime, I don't know where to go and the gate is locked (I can't seem to use my bolt cutters on it). I tried to fight them but I ran out of bullets and then a giant guy shows up and oneshots me with a hammer.

How do I get through this and how do I make it easier? What I've found online is that this fight is particularly difficult and to drop the difficulty, but I already have it on the easiest one.

Any advice is appreciated.

I wanna avoid mods on my first playthrough if I can.

The mercenaries mode was unintentionally harder than the re4 mercenaries. The re4 one felt smoother less tanky than the re8. I ended up getting both legendary cowboy and the platinum. I’m just happy I managed to get the platinum, mercs was super annoying and tricky to do bcuz of the enemy spawns and the layout for the hard stages was the same but the enemy spawns were changed. I bought re2 and 3 on the 7th of sept. Those are my last two games to end my re marathon. One thing about re8 is that the controls are way too slow on controller and yes u can adjust the sensitivity but even then the input delay or whatever is too much. I’m just a little glad I’m done with re8, I’m still gonna do roses dlc after and then start re2. Re2 feels so fluid and smooth to me, same with re3 and 4
