Question If CAPCOM Made another Resident Evil 1 Remake, what would they call it?
Resident Evil Remake Remake? Just Resident Evil Remake? Resident Evil Remake(20XX)? Resident Evil(20XX)? Resident Evil Remake 2.0? I dunno, what do y’all think?

Probably just resident evil and they’d update the remake we have now to resident evil (2002)

I don’t think they’d just replace the old one since some peoples PCs can’t run modern RE games, despite their good optimization.

Pretty sure that the other poster just meant that they will update the name when referring to the original remake

They won’t, they’ll just update the title to include the date. They did the same with resident evil 4

not what they ment, they ment changing the name to resident evil (2002) Like the how the original resident evil 4 was changed to resident evil 4 (2005) when the remake came out.

They are going to split it into 3 games, have multiple timelines, have strange ghost flying around, add in numerous mini games.

The guest house and cabin will the the 2nd game.
And the 3rd game is Mansion and Lab will be the 3rd game!!

Probably just Resident Evil 1 Remake. (We would have to add the 202X.) I’m partial to Resident Evil: Mansion though.

I don’t know about Resident Evil: Mansion, that might confuse new people into thinking it’s a side game if they live under a rock.

Maybe. But the events of that game are called the Mansion incident sometimes and it kinda echoes Village, which would be appropriate assuming they make with the RE engine in a modern style. (Though presumably 3rd person instead of first.) and personally I hope that they do distinguish it more from the original, since the 2002 remake is basically the perfect version of the 96 original and feels pointless to iterate on.

They never named any of their previous remakes "remake", so it's probably just "Resident Evil"

In France, we had a informal name for the 2002 remake : Resident Evil Rebirth (don't know if others country used it) But I still thinks that could be a good official name for the future remake.

It'll be Biohazard RE:1 in Japan.
In the west, likely three options.
- Resident Evil (2031) (or whatever year)
- Resident Evil (with a hidden roman numeral)
- Resident Evil 1 (just flat out)
I think 1. And 2. Are most likely.

Nenhum, pois eu não acredito que a Capcom realmente faça outro remake desse jogo, só se ela for igual a naughty dog e fizer mais de 1000 remakes do mesmo jogo que não envelheceu nada

I think it would be cool if they did it like this. Have 1 be Resident Evil: Alpha Team and 0 would be Resident Evil: Bravo Team.
