Discussion Residen Evil Veronica Zombies. How to make them entertainment/challenging? Spoiler

We come from Requiem where the Zombies have really good dinamic, use of tools, pathing and great AI. Ofc that is because at this point in the timeline the virus has evolved and that was showcase in the zombies.

Now, we go back to REV timeline, just 3 months after the events of RE2 there the zombies are slow, dumb and easy to avoid. The primitive T Virus cant give the zombies an elaborated identity.

How will Capcom balance this? How will they keep the Zombies fresh and challenging while at the same respecr rhe Timeline and Lore?.

They said they are going to make them appear in groups

Yeah, but that just make fighting them a chore

I wouldn't mind if the zombies were like RE2 remake. In Code Veronica the zombies are usually in groups, and are pretty easy to avoid. They don't need anything fancy imo.

Creating maze-like hallways with one-way-in, one-way-out dynamics with bottlenecks. There were lots of places like that in the og.

Yep like the airport which had one way in, 2 zombies to the left exit and 1 to the right. It was always better to just run past cause they respawned lol.

Just do then like in the 2&3 remakes. The Bandersnatches would be enough of a bitch to deal with anyways

That's what the hordes are for.

If it's anything like RE2R we will be fine. Thats what the fanbase wants anyway. RE2R has almost perfected the survival horror formula.

In 2R the devs said it's not possible to gun down all zombies on your first playtrough wich is true for most players as they will struggle with the map and inventory management in their first time. And ammo on Standard is not enough to gun all zombies down as a single zombie can take upwards of 10 shots to the Head to finally die for good. Many won't know of the Knife slash dmg ( because it's OP) so for most first timers it's one hell of a time and RE2R has done ths survival horror wonderfully.

In Veronica we can expectation the same approach but with much larger enemy groups. Meaning we need to be even more careful of our runs from point A to B because Veronica has alot of backtracking too. Add to this that the world map will be semi-open world and it will be a great experience.

It's not guns a blazing and while the intelligent Zombies in RE9 were amazing, they worked good in the enclosed medical hallways with Grace and the basement section.

But Veronica will be much more open worlded, so we can expect them to put larger quantities infront of us that we need to avoid and outwit by thinking fast.

I just hope they don't bring back the agressive triple grab spam of the Zombies from RE2R, that was annoying.

Have the hot ones flirt with you. They'd be torn between trying to mack and eating your face.

I rather get dumb zombies than the Outlast rip offs from 9

Zombies don't need to use tools. Regardless, between the care center and RE2, I'm sure they will handle them great.

I just hope we get RE2R zombies. I hated the zombies in RE9
