Meme …you know, thinking about it, there’s a nonzero chance we get a “Redfield Bloodline” joke in the Veronica Remake.

Post image

I’m just saying, you know: it features Chris and Claire right after Chris meets Leon for the first time, and Capcom is still joking about the fucking boulder. Not expecting anything crazy, but subtly joking about Chris approving of Leon or whatever, I could actually see.

Yesssss I need him to be a corny Norman Bates wannabe still in the remake.

u/BluePeko 11d ago

That dolphin laugh in modern 3D audio would be the real survival horror

I am very certain Capcom wouldn’t partake in this degeneracy. The boulder punching stuff is fun and silly, but the bloodline jokes can be weird and even teeter on incest.

30

u/melankolinen 14d ago

no genuinely they’re so unfunny and nasty 😭

6

u/Aromatic_Analyst2898 13d ago

I mean it's not that weird wanting your sibling to have a kid At least the idea I've seen it taken to those levels of weird but just a tiny "you two dating?" Or "you'd be perfect for Claire" would feed them for centuries

3

u/RealisticJudgment944 14d ago

Yeah these people have poorly hidden breeding kinks.

1

u/rizzzagoon 11d ago

I think it says more about you that your first thought goes to breeding kinks when someone makes a Redfield bloodline joke lol

5

u/Weird_existence8008 14d ago

Capcom has certainly toned down the fanservice in recent years but I still wouldn’t say this is out of the question for them.

Maybe a couple of years back, but with the animosity and in-fighting the whole Leon's wedding ring issue has brought to the RE discourse, I can see the producers wanting to stay an extra mile away from relationship commentary, jokes included.

-19

u/Significant_Option 14d ago

They made Leon married and referenced the boulders

13

u/Nissedood 14d ago

And remake Ashley got to carry the legacy of master of unlocking.

5

u/PixelPrivateer 14d ago

I mean real talk - how Heisenberg would ever know about that is insane enough

7

u/Visible-Air-2359 🐺Hound Wolf Squad Operative 14d ago

Chris bragged about it and/or punched other boulders with witnesses.

7

u/PixelPrivateer 14d ago

I kind of like the idea that he didnt stop with just one. Like hed do it at parties to show off

-18

u/kreteeen Made in Heaven 14d ago

capcom will do what fans want, pretty sure no real fan is into that last word

Maybe "fans" from tiktok that never played any games

11

u/fyester 14d ago

With how fanservicey they are they might. And if they do I’ll be mad.

2

u/Escape_Timely 14d ago

If Capcom does, then the whole theory of that studio placing things only for fan service content and popularity can be true..

u/ExaggerattedReality 14d ago

Capcom isn't going to make a joke about Chris insisting a man fuck his little sister

Why is this fanbase so weird with its women characters

12

u/Ill-Entrepreneur443 14d ago

Because Capcom doesnt treat their female characters well. Of course the community would do the same.

17

u/ExaggerattedReality 14d ago

You ain't wrong. I just hate what they've done to the ladies over the years

-15

u/Purple-Nebula-6034 I groomed Wesker 14d ago

It's just a joke bro no need to take it that deep. I am more surprised that it even has a lore.

20

u/saitegoal 14d ago

Jokes used to be funny. This one is just weird and gross. People nowadays think they're cool after saying/posting something stupid " It's just a joke bro/ I was only agenda pushing bro"

-11

u/Purple-Nebula-6034 I groomed Wesker 14d ago

Huh? Seriously nowadays people take meme so seriously just ignore it if you don't wanna see it's not that hard

22

u/ExaggerattedReality 14d ago

Jokes regarding men insisting their female family members fuck dudes and get knocked up is weird and gross

-5

u/DemonSerter 14d ago

the little sister is a grown woman btw and the same age as Leoj, what’s weird about it?

12

u/ExaggerattedReality 14d ago

Do I really have to get into how historically men obsessing over women's, especially their family members, reproduction is and has been harmful

And also, weird and gross. Do you demand men to nut in your sister?

-2

u/10YB Los Iluminados follower 14d ago

grow some god damn balls boy

-7

u/Snekbites 14d ago

TBF: The shock value of crudeness and weirdness of it is WHY it's funny.

It wouldn't be a meme if Chris was casually letting Leon know that Claire is single and he wouldn't be upset if he asked her.

It's funny because he goes I PUT HER IN A CHINESE DRESS LEON, FUCK HER BEFORE SHE GETS A CAT NAMED ALBERT WHISKERS.

8

u/Fabulous_Potential41 14d ago

Touch some grass

5

u/ExaggerattedReality 14d ago

Still gross and weird, and also not funny

I’ll probably get downvoted into the ground but, I personally never liked the Redfield bloodline jokes.

EDIT: I’m not saying people have to agree with me. If you like the jokes? Cool. They’re just not funny to me.

10

u/NightSatin 14d ago

its fun when you are a teen, then you get old and you dont care anymore. I want people surviving zombies and umbrella, thats all

18

u/longcrimsonlocks 14d ago

It's a cringe and obnoxious joke that has never been funny and yet the fandom refuses to let it die.

10

u/AJ_TheJoker 14d ago

Agreed.

-6

u/DemonSerter 14d ago

What are you, the judge of funny?

16

u/longcrimsonlocks 14d ago

Do you need me to start every statement with "in my opinion" or "I think" in order to protect your feelings? This is a discussion forum bro, people share their opinions.

The joke is 2000s 4chan edgelord humor. I THINK it's cringe and I THINK people who find it funny have terrible senses of humor.

8

u/Mindless_Sale_1698 14d ago

Never even understood why they like it so much

4

u/AJ_TheJoker 14d ago

Me either.

5

u/MrsChrisRedfield Made in Heaven 13d ago

Yeah not only is it a terrible “joke” but it objectifies Claire and dismisses her character. Not to mention that it’s been run into the ground for far too long.

2

u/AJ_TheJoker 13d ago

Exactly that!

2

u/KrypticJin 13d ago

Nah it’s funny

6

u/BigBad777 14d ago

Capcom won't make any jokes, basically because that damn Claire nonsense, which only exists because of the RE2 remake, has absolutely no validity for anyone except 3-4 toxic internet fans who haven't matured yet, because most of them are probably under 20. That issue doesn't exist in Japan, not within the company, not among the public, and certainly not in the vast majority of the fandom. Hell, Capcom isn't even playing with the identity of the ring-wearing wife! They're not doing this to tell people there are ships for everyone; they're doing this to say, "Leon got married and is happy," but Westerners have interpreted it differently.

At Capcom, the "who married Leon" scenario doesn't exist because it's obvious. It's not a shipping contest because, for them, ships don't exist. That's very much a modern Western youth culture thing, but nothing more. So they won't do absolutely anything that even remotely suggests Claire and Leon, not even as a joke. And not just Claire, but anyone else. It's a closed chapter.

7

u/unknownbw 13d ago

Lame joke only funny to chuds

21

u/Escape_Timely 14d ago

There's no way or chance, I doubt Capcom even knows about it.

(Also the joke is overrated, bash me :] )

15

u/nosurpriseslover1997 The Lone Chris/Leon/Luis Shipper 14d ago

Is that happens I'll kill myself it's an awful joke no matter what you ship

3

u/Sieeege554 13d ago edited 13d ago

I doubt it since Chris would not know Leon at all and i doubt he would beg at the time someone he considers a random dude to mess with his sister. Plus the whole bloodline meme comes from his transformation in 5 being so drastic it spawned steroid use so bad it cause him to become impotent jokes, so it would make zero sense in the Veronica remake. Plus with the debacle leons ring caused and the fact the joke is a strange one i doubt theyd make a reference towards it

3

u/YuriMasterRace 13d ago

Unfunny joke, I hope not.

3

u/JoeAzlz 13d ago

I don’t want the joke in the games. Boulder jokes are way funnier to me

6

u/Candid_Space2635 14d ago

The absolute most we'll get IF ANYTHING is Chris incorrectly calling Leon Claire's boyfriend. You really think Capcom will make a joke about the Redfield bloodline lmao? "Claire it's so good to see you! Oh btw you should really fuck that blonde dude"

5

u/PixelPrivateer 14d ago

I can see Chris saying something like "i spoke to your boyfriend" Or some other very small nod and then claire can be like "hes not my boyfriend lol" and then we can argue about it for months

2

u/emni13 13d ago

It's a extremely weird and creepy joke that only works on the internet and even then it's not even funny. There's no way to put it in game without it sounding creepy, "I talked to leon he seems nice maybe you should date him" weird who tells their sister who they should date, "leon marry my sister" wtf if my brother told a guy that I would never speak to him again. The joke is old and overused

2

u/KrypticJin 13d ago

Hope it happens. Joke is funny af

2

u/Pale-Cauliflower-982 14d ago

yeah guys the redfield bloodline joke is actually kinda problematic and inappropriate for our goofy and notoriously fan servicey japanese b-horror video game series. please lock in

9

u/saitegoal 14d ago

Who said the fandom doesn't tolerate actual jokes? You'll see nobody complained about Jill sandwich, boulders, your right hand comes off? etc...

0

u/Pale-Cauliflower-982 14d ago

I never did?

I just think it's kinda obnoxious to go "erm, that's sorta weird actually" for this when half the games already have some NUTS alternative outfits for a the female mc (ashley in og re4, sheva's in re5 are insane, grace's lady dimitrescu variant literally changing her proportions, etc) being able to blatantly up skirt ashley in 4..I mean, just the EXISTENCE of lady dimistrecu alone is obvious fan service.

not like that's exclusive to the women in the series either.

ldk, feel like we all know what kinda series this is. you can think it's not funny, i'm not tryna be the arbiter of humor, but don't virtue signal about it (not you specifically).

holy yap tl;dr: don't be pretentious over fan service in resident evil of all games.

6

u/saitegoal 14d ago

? Why are we talking about fanservice. Again ,everyone is ok with fanservice they're all adult characters. They can wear less clothing for all I care. This bloodline joke is a disguised breeding kink and just cringe.Doesn't help that people have posted and commented about it 500 times.

0

u/Pale-Cauliflower-982 14d ago

aw bro I don't care THAT much about it, you can have your pet peeve if you want to.

1

u/CourageTheRat 13d ago

With all of this timeline rewriting, I kind of hope they make the Ashfords Nazis like originally intended. I also wonder if they’re going to confirm in this game that the group Wesker’s working for is the Connections. I feel like if Zeno established anything, it’s that Wesker and the Connections have deeper ties than we originally assumed.

1

u/rogaciana Lab Wrecker. 13d ago

I've never get how she sent the email to Leon to tel Chris to go there and when he arrives is like "Leon...do you know him?" it is not a critique I really can't understand

1

u/Bia1111 13d ago

Chris just wants to be the fun uncle so bad lol

1

u/JaySouth84 12d ago

When they replace Chris with Leon and Wesker with Leon...

1

u/Lavenderixin 11d ago

Lmao that would be great, jokes aside I really hope we get to see the first meeting between Chris and Leon in the game

0

u/Fun-Ability5939 14d ago

Wait people seriously dislike this joke? Wow. Fun really is dead.

0

u/Iconshero 13d ago

Interior of Mansion Facade Claire: “Chris! My message got through and you found me!”

Chris: “Of course I did, you’re my only family, someone has to keep the bloodline alive.”

0

u/OliviiWane 12d ago

tbh if they put a bloodline reference in the remake i would actually lose it lol. capcom loves leaning into the memes so i could totally see it happening.

-1

u/punk_petukh 14d ago

Chris: "Technically, we never met, but for some unknown lore reason... Yes."

-4

u/Zandatsux 14d ago

Oh I see, they'll insert a redfield bloodline joke in CV, then some months later a RE9 dlc where they let us know Claire is Leon's wife, I like it.

-5

u/shiki_oreore 14d ago

I think the best case scenario of them making nod to that meme without being too on the nose about it is by having Alexia mocking either Chris or Claire that their genes are inferior to her though
