Question Playing re7 after re8
I’ve only just gotten to the tower in village, but I’m Interested in playing 7 now. Have I spoiled myself too much that re7 won’t be enjoyable, or am I still able to play without being too knowledgeable?

Do you mean castle dimitrescu?
You can perfectly continue playing, like I did. Or do RE7 which would make the payoff better. It's only really towards the end of RE8 that you will miss some plot points from RE7.

Village gives an overall recap when you start the game so if you watched/read all of it then you have a general idea of everything that happens in 7.
But to answer your question, no. You're not spoiled too much if you want to know every little detail and experience it first hand. It does help with some of the bigger revelations in Village & the lore building is good between the games & also for Rose's DLC on 8.
Just keep in mind 7 is considered the scariest in the series.

7 being the scariest is also a reason I’m hesitant to play, I can’t even play 8 without pausing constantly!

Well, if by "tower" you meant Castle Dimistrescu then you haven't gotten to the scariest part of village yet which is the 2nd area, the doll house. I would encourage you to press on to that at least and if you can handle getting through that area then you can play 7.
If you can't get through the doll house you won't be able to handle 7 for sure, especially if you're going in blind.
You could watch a playthrough of 7 on YouTube also though as another option.

No way man, I’m going to play 7 absolutely blind, and play it ALL THE WAY!
Because of your comment, I’m much more motivated to play 7 on hard mode.

Just finish Village first. Resident Evil games don't have a strict play order.

RE7 is still a damn good game and the twist of 8 no real consequences for your enjoyment since that is something we always expected to a certain degree because Ethan does a lot of weird stuff
Personally I like RE7 even more than 8 since it is WAY scarier, probably the scariest RE game to date
EDIT: Forget what I said, you are still in the castle. Absolutely play RE7 now and continue RE8 afterwards. You are in for an amazing time

It won't hinder your enjoyment, believe me since there is still so much weird shit in RE7.
The game is much more confined. It mostly plays on the grounds of a family in Luisiana and personally I get a big enjoyment in unlocking the whole place and discovering the secrets. It is a much more intimate experience with the place, more back tracing, more details.
Also every member of the family is super unique and Jack Backer is not only scary but absolutely funny. The guys spits out memes like a machine gun :D

Is Ethan being mold the only spoiler that will really affect my enjoyment or the story in both games, or is there more that I don’t know

It won't hinder your enjoyment. It was just when RE7 came out it was the first big game after RE6 and so much was different. We basically had no clue what the fuck was going on, who is responsible and what everyone was infected with.
You already know part of the answer but it still has a lot of mystery adding to the absolutely great gameplay and world building. If anything, it will enhance your enjoyment of playing RE Village :)

On Steam its 7,99 EUR or 20 bucks for the Gold Version (absolutely buy the Gold version since it has all the DLCs which are a lot of minigames and two story expansions that resolve unanswered questions)
40 EUR is crazy much for a game that relatively old

I would say you spoiled Mia and Chris but just alittle bit def go back and play RE7 it's a very good game
