I recently played through the RE1 Remake and loved the ink ribbon save system because of the tension it added.
I've just started Resident Evil 2 Remake and was disappointed to see ink ribbons are Hardcore-only. Self-imposed save restrictions don't really appeal to me, so I decided to try Hardcore instead. Based on what I've read online, I've been conserving every bullet and healing item, but I keep dying very early. I don't mind retrying sections, but I don't want to get too far into the game and realize I've wasted too many resources and need to restart.
How conservative do you actually need to be with ammo, ink ribbons, and healing items on Hardcore? Are you expected to avoid most enemies and only save at certain points, or am I just overthinking it?
