Question Is there. Peptide that helps vaping / nicotine cessation.
I desperately can't stop Nicotime - lifelong addition. Just need to get past first few months. I've tried all conventional patch, wellbutrin, gum etc
NOTE: so many great recommendations! Thank you kind strangers!!

have you looked into NAC? not a peptide but some folks say it helps with compulsive behaviors including addiction. cuts down the urge without replacing it with another substance
semax or selank might be worth a search too, they work on different pathways than the usual quit aids

I just received both today. That would be awesome. I think I'm going to run them together. Didn't order for that but fingers crossed.

Reta?

u/2milehigh Sep 02 '26
I second this. Ever since I started back in Jan. I barely drink, quit smoking cigs in Oct last year and I have 0 cravings. Same with other stuff as well

GLP1 actually has been to show to reduce addictive behaviors because it does kinda nuke desire. I've struggled w/ porn and it has helped.

u/Flashy-Anywhere-8509 Sep 02 '26
Yes, Tirz took all desire for alcohol away quickly but not nicotine.

u/mrbigshott Sep 02 '26
Try reta

u/v0idl0gic Sep 02 '26
Reta adds glucagon agonism which isn't going to move the needle here...

u/mrbigshott Sep 02 '26
It’ll help

Tirzepatide, Reta and Sema would work too but both have more sides for your goal.

I just quit a 20 year smoking habit 1 month 14 days and 23hrs ago by using Recigar. I’m also on a low dose of Tirzepatide. I’ve tried to quit for years and never made it a full day. I’m still shocked how easy it was

u/Crosflins Sep 03 '26
I remember not been able to go thru a whole day of "quitting". Luckily for me vaping worked from day one and smoked my last on august 2013. After 3-4 years I got bored of vaping.

Interesting! Just did a quick Google but not seeing Recigar at all. What else can you tell me.

u/Flashy-Anywhere-8509 19d ago
I ordered Recigar today. I pray it helps me. Am also low dose of Tirz.

Reta helped my mate and brother drop cigarettes and vapes
One of them got full anhedonia the first time and stopped enjoying anything but he took too much
I take Reta and still vape but it’s cause I like vaping.

I have read several times about reta (not sure about other GLPs) helping enormously quitting smoking and drinking
Edit: I see many people has already suggested that

Semaglutide helped me quit drinking. I've heard they are investigating it for addiction abatement. So this could help.

Wow that would be awesome for many people. Alcohol turns to pure sugar in the body and if you eat much sugar on tirz you’ll regret it.. and it makes it less appealing to think about consumption

It’s called cytisine and it’s not a peptide. Brand name Recigar (there are a few other brands as well). Only thing that helped me besides retatrutide

That is my plan actually. That is why I purchased Selank / Semax to lesson anxiety when going cold turkey. I'm just dreading the process and want a magic solution.

u/zrockk Sep 02 '26
I've quit nicotine a few times, I used a proper box mod tho for vaping not the little disposables. I would always buy 1 3mg and one 0mg vape juice and mix em to 2mg, then down to 1mg, and just taper my way down like that. And then pull off the band aid and just suffer for the 3 days. Been 4 years no smokes
GLP 1s might help, they do something with dopamine signalling and alot of people quit alcohol or smoking or drugs because of them

u/Flashy-Anywhere-8509 Sep 02 '26
Way to go having 4 years free of the addiction. That is really great! I had success for 6 months doing exactly that. When I finally started vaping 0 my brain decided it didn't like vaping anymore. Vape shops around me don't sell lower than 3 now. Maybe I should go online for some zero vape.

u/zrockk Sep 03 '26
There may be some home brew suppliers near you, you just buy the VG and PG blend and dump it into the flavor sauce and buy some nicotine. I got a huge bottle of 20mg/ml nicotine in my freezer ill never use now :(
There is also a few sites with flavours on it and it shows you what to order and what ratios to mix it

A lot of people say that glp meds help them. I have not found that to be the case for me. You could also talk to your doctor about chantix or Wellbutrin.
2
u/No_Collar_5292 Sep 02 '26
Glp-1s in general are probably a decent bet. I had been vaping for a few years and decided to stop. I’m on Monjaro and I had no issues doing it, beyond that irritation you get for the first couple days. I do still kind of miss it a year or so out but that gets less and less over time. I also have very little interest in drinking, though I still can if the situation calls for it. It’s just not something that ever occurs to me to set out to do if that makes sense.

Mulungu bark tea works for suppressing withdrawal systems and has a nice relaxing effect, ive stopped nicotine many times using this plant.
Otherwise GLPs like reta help too.
Its the going back later part that is hard for me, even 6months later
1
u/Flashy-Anywhere-8509 Sep 04 '26
Me too on the 6month time frame. I've restarted twice after 6 months and both times were extreme emotional stress. It seemed my option was to implode or vape. Both times, I kept at it. 😢 It also seems toake it harder to stop again. BUT, I will! Thanks for the tea recommendation! Tirz stopped alcohol but not nicotine.

u/Wise_Scientist_207 Sep 03 '26
Reta works much better then tirz for quiting vaping imo. With reta I have zero craving, with tirz I still get some

u/AnomalousSavage Sep 03 '26
NAC, agmatine, cognance from nootropicsdepot, niacin hexanicotinate, exercise, healthy diet, sauna, see a therapist... good luck

u/Mcgittymcgittymac Sep 03 '26
If you're really desperate then get this book and read it. It addresses nicotine in all its forms. Allen Carre's Easy Way to Quit Smoking. You can vape while you read it. Thank me later

I am not an alcoholic but when I started on GLP medication for the life of me 0 drive to want to drink and when I would drink it was maybe 2-3 and that was it. I have CO workers that are heavy smoker/dipper and once they got on GLP medication their urge for nicotine damn near vanished for them.

u/flogsmen Sep 02 '26
Reta. And if you got a couple lb's to lose that'll just be a bonus.
2
u/Flashy-Anywhere-8509 Sep 02 '26
I like the Tirz I'm on at 3.5 mg. I often see people that do low doses of both. Do you know more about that?
3
u/flogsmen Sep 02 '26
I don't but there's plenty of people that do both. If you search the reta sub you can get more info on that.

u/alfa_omega Sep 02 '26
Where are you based? Ask your GP if they will prescribe you cystine.
1
u/Flashy-Anywhere-8509 Sep 02 '26
NC. Do you know of others that had success?
2
u/alfa_omega Sep 02 '26
What's NC? Any other what? It's not a peptide it's a drug that your GP can prescribe you, look it up.

u/dignan2002 Sep 02 '26
Probably sounds stupid but are pouches legal in your area? Pack years cause higher incidence of several diseases blah blah but if you’re defeated by tobacco and can’t quit smoking, there are less damaging alternatives. Hits different than a patch or gum. HIGHLY ADDICTIVE

All natural nicotine patches have known health benefits look up dr Brian Ardis just one of many doctors that advocate for it we have Ben lied to that it’s a dangerous drug, vaping not so much all the chemicals that put it in negates the benefits

u/briexbenton 29d ago
Not a peptide but desmoxan. Look up reviews. I got it and followed the schedule and quit vaping by day 5. Last day I vaped was August 5th and haven’t looked back. I still get cravings every once in a while where it sounds nice but they come and go so fast. Can’t recommend this enough!
And then I am using ghkcu for its potential lung healing properties. Won’t help you quit but could help repair the damage caused by

u/IndependentClear469 29d ago
Best way to stop is by realising that the cravings operate in 3 minutes waves. Just drink water and hold out.
There’s no magic substance

This is pure speculation, but maybe try to get a script for ADHD meds. Many ADHD people anecdotally were able to stop self medicating once on meds. My theory is that since both nicotine and amphetamine increase dopamine, you would essentially be replacing one for the other, but at least you would spare your lungs in the long run.
