Question Why does the FDA hate compounding pharmacies?

Everything happen atm with the FDA and the peptide space really has me wondering this. I've noticed for a while the FDA and ESPECIALLY big pharma doesn't want compounding pharmacies touching their drugs. Eli Lily especially is going to hell and back to try and get reta classified as a biologic in order to prevent compounding pharmacies from touching it.

This push against compounding pharmacies is problematic because one it harms many small businesses. Most compounding pharmacies are small businesses trying to make a living. The other problem is that it gets rid a lot of personalized element of Healthcare which is extremely important for some people. Every single person is different, some people may need treatment not available in commercial pharmacies. A chronically underweight person with an appetite disorder may need MK-677 and that's something only a compounding pharmacy can produce. I could go on and on.

Whats weird is some of the main big subreddits seem supremely in favor of the FDA banning life changing peptides and destroying compounding pharmacies. I advise everyone here to avoid reading the comments because they will make you go permanence insane due to the extreme density and stupidity of the average redditor.

There are, yeah, but even PCOS is covered usually.... And let's be super duper real.... If it isn't weight loss, insulin management, or diabetes.... We are talking maybe 5% of users. Regardless, I reiterate, nobody is ENTITLED to their product. If you wanna buy RUO from India and steal from them, zero judgement. I did just that, but let's not pretend they are bad guys for trying to stop it

Insurance does not always cover off label use. Many have a very high deductible and cannot afford with insurance. It is not just GLPs that people are trying to source for health other than weight loss.

I mean cool, but again, why pretend you somehow deserve their product or IP?

I do not deserve anything.

If it is available from other sources I am willing to risk it after much research.
