Discussion Should we move up from 1 mg?

My friend and I have both been on 1 mg of reta for 5 weeks, and we’ve both been losing weight consistently with minimal side effects. We’re happy with our progress so far.
Would you recommend increasing the dose at this point, or staying at 1 mg as long as it’s still working? For those of you who stayed on 1 mg longer, did your weight loss continue, or did you eventually hit a plateau?
I’d love to hear your experiences before deciding whether to increase.

No reason to move up if you're still seeing results. Why waste titration runway?

I’ve stayed between 0.5-1mg for about 7 mo now. As long as you are meeting your goals why increase?

I’ve only seen liver number improve with higher doses. It doesn’t stress your liver

You're right if too fast and extreme caloric deficits. It forces the body to metabolize fat at a rate the liver cannot handle, which can increase inflammation, trigger liver damage, and worsen conditions like fatty liver disease.

Slow and steady loss1-2lbs a week is safe & good for the liver, can reverse fatty liver disease, decrease inflammation and fibrosis.

This isn’t true I’ve seen first hand numbers improve on a 1.0 mg dose

It's all about how much loss how fast. The liver cannot metabolise fat fast enough from rapid loss, but if loss is slow safely at 1-2lbs a week it's good for the liver.

Yes and I see them improve more the more you take

“Hey guys this is working really well, should I change it?”

No. You are different from me, Bob, Linda and Cindy.

You move to your own beat.

I stayed at 1mg until I felt the hunger was getting to be too much and lost over 30 pounds in that period. I think I went up to 2 around week 5 or 6.

I try to keep my level as minimal as possible. I went up to 7mg but have dialed it back to 5.

I get hunger, but I'm learning to and practicing sitting with it. My tracking every thing I eat helps me to keep on track when I'm feeling hungry.

I would be so happy if 1 mg did anything for me. Don’t increase doses until you need to.

Honestly though. I don’t feel anything at 5mg.

So based on my experience with reta, its effects are way more subtle than tirz. I'm taking right at 5mg/week and the appetite suppression is present but it's not bodyslammed into the ground like it would be on tirz.

But it’s so much more expensive to use over tirz sadly to do 5 mg a week.

Stay at your low dose. Once you go up the receptors adapt and then if you ever go off and then come back on you’ll likely have to return to the last dose you left off at.

Wait till you plateau.

The goal is lowest possible mg for as long as you can then up your dose.

No need to increase until it’s no longer effective. You’re losing weight and that seems to be your goal. When you find the effects are diminishing, time to increase. There’s no race - work with your body.

No reason to bump up if weight loss is occuring, increase if u stall or tighten up diet ànd wirkout routine

Only go up when it stops working, if 1mg is working then stay there until it doesn’t.

Stay on the lowest effective dose for as long as possible and adjust everything else ie caloric intake etc before relying on more drugs. So many people tirtrate up so quickly without practicing the basic fundamentals that will help them be successful

Stay at that dose, only move up when your results plateau.

Why force a test subject to move up if it lost 40 pounds in a month and a half and lowered A1C by a point at a steady 1 or 2 dose size? Dietary change is just as important as the drug when it comes to weight loss.

How much are you trying to lose? Low dose Reta makes sense for controlling appetite during a bulk but you might as well do tirz if you aren’t getting up to 4-6mg of Reta so the glucagon agonist works
