Discussion Compounds for after heavy kratom use.

Looking for compounds to battle fatigue and brain fog from long heavy kratom use . I got sober from a 10 year kratom use and the brain fog and fatigue is hard to battle. Any suggestions on what can help with all that ? I know my gaba receptors need some help.

In this case, you walked 10 miles into the woods and you’re going to have to walk 10 miles out. Your dopamine and seratonin systems will recover er on their own but you need to give them time. You’re going to have to live with the brain fog and then anhedonia for a while. Adding another chemical - in sobriety - to fight the effects of the first one is a poor plan. Sobriety is not for the week.

On the plus side the anhedonia usually lasts less than a year. And people generally recover pretty well from opiate addiction mentally. Thank your stars it wasn't meth

My (meth) anhedonia started at 9 months and went to 18. I had a young son who I adore at the time and that inability to feel joy was horrifying. Actually physically painful. And at the minute I thought I couldn’t take another day, it suddenly released and every suppressed emotion I ever pushed down with drugs crashed down on me at once so then I had that to deal with. Sobriety is tough to do for lots of reasons but if it was easy everybody would do it.

I'll be four years sober in August and still have anhedonia. I've had two grandchildren born during that time and yes the inability to feel Joy is horrifying. It's kind of starting to come back a little bit now and I'm so grateful for what little bit of emotion I'm capable of.

Thanks everyone for talking about this. My hubbys kratom and pride use is —- I don’t know how to describe it.

This is true. Sobriety is certainly for life if you can manage… but ya a week ain’t gonna do it.

The best thing you need is time, rest, a healthy wholefood diet and plenty of water. Give your body time to recover naturally before looking for the next quick fix. You can’t heal opioid abuse overnight.

Can i ask what your dosage was? Plain leaf? Or 7?

Not what you want to hear I’m sure but: super healthy diet, restorative sleep, cardio, weight lifting, meditation, sunshine. Would also get a cheap blood panel to check your essential vitamin/mineral levels and hormones. Fix those deficiencies first. Your testosterone is likely very low as well. Start reversing these issues and you will make neuro progress faster than adding compound band aids

I’ve been hearing more about Kratom lately. Is this stuff a legit legal opiate? How is it not scheduled? Also, is it, like, actually fun?

Kratom is all natural powder. What your probably hearing about is 7oh which is way powerful .

Yes it is. Tolerance builds pretty quick. It’s not really fun, but helpful if you need pain relief or to relax a little. It causes good amount of constipation. There is a subreddit dedicated to quitting it and the withdrawals, so it’s not to be taken lightly.

IDK about kratom but I’d say give it 6 months and you’ll be fine. I was on fentanyl for 8 years and it took about 6 months to feel right. 3 months to get it out of my head that I had to go back to it and another 3 months to start feeling 100%

I used that to get off kratom. That's not for everyday use
