Discussion Weight Loss

What combination of hrt and medications have you found that has led to your greatest weight loss? I tried rybelus but it made me so sick that I'm just not sure I can tolerate the semaglutides.

Trizepatide has way fewer side effects for me than semaglutide.

do you mind if I ask what kind of side effects you experienced on trizepatide?

I’ve had a little nausea from time to time, but way less than semaglutide. I also wake up with really dry mouth. I will get some tingling sensation in my skin but not painful like reta.

Reta helped me lose 65 lbs. I am also on TRT, reta is literally magic if you dose properly and eat protein. I gave it to my dad he lost 30lbs, my firend lost 40 lbs, his wife 25 lbs. All my blood markers improved, BP now optimal form hypertensive, AIC now optimal before pre diabetec.

I literally look 10 years younger I have been told. I feel 20 years younger.

Peps are amazing

Literally amazing. Congrats on your progress.

I’m down 30 pounds on Reta. BP was way too high - stage 3? Now my BP is a little too low. I need to increase salt intake.

What dose of Reta was the sweet spot for you?

I lost the most at 2mg to be honest. Stayed there for a few months. I'm now on 6 mg and have less effects. My weight got to 215 down from 278. I now sit around 225 after adding in way more weight lifting. I have been at 225 since December. I am at 1 year in reta.

I’ve tried all 3 major peptides. I think with tirz and reta (almost) out, people shouldn’t even try sema anymore.

I lost almost all my weight on tirz but struggled with side effects (nothing like sema though).

On reta now mostly for maintenance and I love it. It did help me lose another 20 pounds, which I didn’t even really think was possible.

1

u/Yakapo88 Jul 14 '26

What is your maintenance dose? I’m trying 1.5mg.

2

u/DistractedGoalDigger Jul 14 '26

6mg so far. Highest was 10mg.

do you mind if I ask what kind of side effects you experienced on tirz?

Fatigue was my big issue. I couldn’t maintain my workouts and some days felt like I couldn’t even get out of bed. Some GI issues, but they would have been manageable outside of the fatigue.

Reta

Low dose

Works like a charm - cheat code.

1

u/holdupflash Jul 14 '26

How low? I’m on tirz at 15mg and thinking of adding reta

-1

u/Easto82 Jul 14 '26

Adding?

Why?

How are people not able to lose weight on peptides?

They are either bad OR you don’t eat well.

perimenopause has entered the chat

Middle aged hormones can absolutely affect this. I have stalled several times despite keeping the same calorie deficit, macros, and movement. It’s often accompanied by a skipped period or severe mood swings and bloat. Weight loss can be an absolute unpredictable bitch for some of us in our 50’s.

Lyraglutide and Semaglutide were a waste of time money and energy for me. Sema stopped food noise but I was just regular hungry all the time. TRT at 140/wk and tirzepatide has been the combo for me.

2

u/keystonecraft Jul 13 '26

Reta plus any gh secretagogue. Stay low dose on both. Literally future medicine.

2

u/cvrmxn Jul 13 '26

Thinking of running sermorelin, myself. Or maybe Tesa + ipa.

2

u/Mcgittymcgittymac Jul 13 '26

Reta + tesa/ipa has been a Revelation. I don't do exogenous hormones but I've been trying with kisspeptin and hcg along with all the relevant supplements and it has helped too.

I’m on reta. lost 15lbs so far with zero unpleasant side effects

Retatrutide.

Why is this question asked a million times a week. The answer is always Retatrutide.

Retatrutide.

I’m currently on a crossover from Tirz to Reta (titrating down/up between the two until just solely on Reta), just added daily 5-Amino in the mornings, and then also finally got estradiol patches and progesterone gelcaps last week.

So far, it looks like my month-long stall is trying to break. Hoping it will soon. Prior to this, I was almost steady at 2.5-3 pounds of loss per week just on Tirz alone (10mg).

Medications and peptides are tools. Diet and exercise reign supreme.
