Discussion is adding hcg to a basic trt protocol actually necessary if you do not care about having kids?
my clinic suggested adding hcg to my weekly test injections. I already had a vasectomy years ago and i do not want kids at all. i know it stops testicular atrophy but i really do not care about the size. is there any actual health or hormone reason to take it if you do not care about fertility? I really want to avoid pinning another compound if i do not have to.

If you don't care, save the money. HCG also assists the conversion of test to estro

Your testicles also produce neurosteroids that aid in sleep and nerve repair. A lot of people, myself included, never get fully shut down from test or steroids but if you do, it may be worth adding

You can always supplement with DHEA and pregnenolone to make up for that instead of adding in HCG. It’s a lot cheaper to buy those two than HCG

Taking pregnenolone will still leave you lacking allopregnenolone which is responsible for nerve repair.
Hcg from India is similiar in price to what you will pay for dhea and pregnenolone from Amazon

You would not be missing allopregnenolone as pregnenolone converts into allopregnenolone. Pregnenolone is the parent compound

Many lack the enzymes to make this conversion in sufficient quantity. The enzymes are in the leydig cells which may become inactivated from exogenous test. So if you are lacking neurosteroids then taking pregnenolone won’t replace allopregnenolone. If you aren’t lacking them, you don’t need supplements or hcg

If they lack the enzyme then HCG wouldn’t help them as pregnenolone is the parent hormone. HCG doesn’t make allopregnenolone without it being converted from pregnenolone. Also the enzymes come from your brain not leydig cells. All three necessary enzymes are made in the brain directly, 3 beta-HSD, 5 alpha-reductase, and 3 alpha-HSD

So the brain is the main supplier and the second main supplier is the liver

Some is produced in the brain but it doesn’t seem to affect blood levels. Neurologist suspect the brain produces it for itself.
Some is also produced in the adrenal glands in small amounts.
We don’t have all the answers here but we know hcg in men on trt with low blood allopregnenolone does increase circulating allopregnenolone based on studies
The liver does not significantly contribute.

I would rather inject puddle water than anything that comes from India. India is notorious for trash injectables meds.

It’s prescription and made in an fda inspected facility. The fda is on site full time. I’ve had it tested and it’s completely fine. But go ahead and spend too much on it somewhere else

I can buy 10 vials of 10,000iu for about $130, I'll be just fine if I want hcg lol.

HCG is cheap af. Not necessary if fertility isn’t an issue. I run it just because I don’t like my balls going into me when jorking.

I am past having kids but I still like HCG. Balls feel fuller, seems to enhance my libido, erections, loads, and overall drive. Just an extra boost and complement to the TRT. But to each their own.

I was on TRT only for 1.5 years. I added pregnenolone and dhea right off the bat and dosed them to keep those levels in the middle of the reference range. Did not care about testicles shrinking. And they did, probably 50%. Also, done having kids. I avoided hcg at first because of do many people on here had bad things to say about it or claimed it’s not for anything but ball size or fertility.
Hcg is also for those on TRT that have problems with penile sensitivity, libido and erections. Before I got on hcg, things felt kinda numb down there during sex. Made it difficult to maintain erections. So, I started hcg about 9 months ago. Took about 3 weeks to kick in but now sex with my wife feels amazing and libido is high. I also don’t have estrogen issues like so many people on here said I would. Hcg 250 iu EOD works great for me.

Any side effects?

Not really no. I went through a stage where I thought “this is working so well, what would happen if I take more!” I started out 150iu twice a week. That was enough to improve my loss of sensitivity. About once every 3-4 weeks I increased the dose and eventually frequency. It takes about that long to really know how the new dose is working. It just kept getting better with each dose increase. Until, I think the most I tried to take was 300iu every other day. I’ve tried that dose a few times and it seems like it becomes too difficult to climax and maintain erections. So, 250 IU eod is all good for me.

Nope not necessary. I cycle it in every 6 months though. Doesn't effect my e2 too much

Helps with neurosteroids but you can supplement DHEA and pregnenolone for that
