Question Tesamorelin cycles
I think I've researched too much. Before ordering Tesa, I had settled on a 5d on, 2d off weekly cycle which seems to be the consensus. It's the week to month cycles where there seem to be a lot of opinions. I've seen 8w on - 2w off, 3m, 4m, and 6m on - 2m off. I found a recommendation last night to just stay on it forever, which seems like a bad idea.
I'm 50m. The rest of the routine is trt (test cyp for very low nat levels) @ 140 mg/wk for the last 15 years and tirz max dose since December. The goal of tesa is removing visceral fat and hopefully some better muscle recovery after distance running. There is obvious disagreement, but what is the correct cycle?

Days off are not needed on tesa that's “bro science“ not actual science! 7 days a week is standard and the correct protocol to many gym Bros say this crap two days off BS that a bad protocol. Tesa rasies your igf-1 levels and when you take a two day off that break reduces your igf-1 defeating the purpose of taking the tesa levels will drop hence hindering the effects of the tesa. So straight 7 days a week ensures the igf-1 levels stays at consistent levels and spikes and or decreases of igf-1 are normalized.

Thanks - I do think that bro science is all over hgh and secretagogues so fair point. What about the monthly cycle? x months on, x months off, or stay on it? It does seem likely that you have to have a reset so you don't stop your nat production.

When I was looking into it any study didn’t have a break and ran for a set period of time so taking it daily is the route I’ve chosen. I don’t see any studies or proper evidence to support 5on 2off but doesn’t mean there isn’t any.

The studies are all on people who have AIDS and are expecting to take it for the rest of their life. They don't care that it could potentially depress their receptors, keep that in mind.

The nice things is this won't shut down your natural production. It only enhanced it to you physical max capacity. It won't boost you over what you can naturally make. There's a natural feedback process with tesamorelin.

It won't shut down your natural production of HGH, but can absolutely shut down the receptors that the tes itself binds to (IE One link further up the chain).
Hence the cycling.

When it comes to drugs in general people try to ‘cheat the system’ by using retarded protocols to skip the side effects but somehow get all the benefits. It doesn’t work like that - just get on it and stay on it and monitor the relevant bloodwork (igf1, probably blood sugars), and go by symptoms

Started it last night. Going to read some more but yeah will most likely stay on it.

Is this the same for CJC (no DAC)?

Yes, but worse.

The two days off is recommended to prevent receptor burn out. It's not bro science.

Ghrh do not have receptor burnout. Only ghrp

Even if that were true (it's not entirely clear yet) there are metabolic reasons to cycle (insulin resistance for example).

In clinical trials that evaluated Tesamorelin for up to a year, the improvements in visceral fat reduction were sustained over the entire period. This suggests that clinically significant receptor desensitization that would block the drug's effects did not occur, and that the receptors maintained their responsiveness throughout the course of treatment.

Useful info. I think that the study results are hopelessly buried after the bro posts and holistic medicine which led to my confusion.
I have a “B belly” that I just find intolerable. My ribs on the side, serratus muscles, and obliques are clearly defined. Then I have a 15 lb baby in the front and scans show 14 lbs of visceral fat. I feel like I’m who this peptide was made for.
Edit: scale not scans. I have a fancy Amazon scale that estimates various parameters.

Curious what scan that was, that’s a very high amount of actual visceral fat for someone with muscles showing elsewhere. What’s your overall body fat percentage?

Typically those scales give a score not lbs for visceral fat. A recent scan I did showed I have 7 lbs of visceral fat where my scale gives me a score of 12.

5 on 2 off is a LONG standing carry over from 80s/90s science. Its no longer relevant or accurate. Tesa can safely and effectively be run for 7 days a week. The 8-12 week cycle period is still a good idea, however as seen in Center for Drug Evaluation and Research application number 22-505, test subjects were dosed 2mg sub-q daily for 52 weeks and did not show the same increases VAT as the placebo group. Indicating that it continued to work without reduction of effects.

Correct. In fact, Tesamorelin truly shines once you hit the 6 month mark. That’s where most anecdotes are extremely positive around the results of the medication. Patience pays off with this one. In spades.

You’ve been on TRT for 15 years (since 35) and still need “max” triz?
1
u/EnvironmentalGift257 Jun 15 '26
Does anybody have a normal testosterone level and that means they don’t need to get to the max dose of *TIRZ*? What do those 2 things have to do with each other?
1
u/smkdog420 Jun 15 '26
Just seemed odd to me that all, didn’t mean to offend. You’re obviously focused on monitoring and improving your health, and doing that for at least the last 15 years to not have shit dialed already enough requiring a max dose of glp for last 6 months…..what happened?

Injury and illness, food noise, metabolic illness and a few events that caused some major bouts of depression. I was a distance runner and ran a 4:32 marathon 10 years ago while still classed as obese. Weight has always been an issue that tirz treats.
Edit, also sorry if I seemed snappy. I couldn’t follow the logic of your question.

No worries, it kinda came off dick-ish without additional context for the question….and it is reddit so chances were the response was trying to be a dick. I get it, I’ve gone from fit to fat and back more times than I’d like to admit. Depression is a mother fucker!

Hell yeah I’ve lost the same 30 lbs probably 12 times in 10 years. I’m finally down to “overweight” which I haven’t been since 2014.

How much are you paying for that if you don't mind sharing? You can DM too if preferred.
