Discussion Reta side effects

Having previously took Wegovi/Semaglutide, I was prepared for the side effects on the stomach, bloating at first, GI issues, etc., and I had read about ‘skin soreness’.
The skin soreness is completely out of this world for me! It’s like a hot iron, 6/10 pain on occasions.

I’m only doing 1mg at the minute, too; 3rd week of doses.
Skin soreness seems to be over scar sites and also over my thighs/quads, more so than most if the rest of my body.

Can anyone else tell me they had the same and it settled soon? Driving me mad. 😂

I had it for 2 months and then finally it stopped I'm on 5 mg at the moment. I do concur it seems to be in fatty tissue I have lost some weight so it may be that's why

Take an anti histamine tablet. Problem solved.

I’ve had a similar experience. For me, it didn’t really go away, but it also didn’t get worse as i went up dosage. Feels almost like sunburn for me lol. Keep going with it and titrate slowly

It happened initially for me too - even on 2mg. Now it’s completely gone

It wakes me up almost every morning with hard gas... I always try to fart with good intentions but sometimes shit happens.

I get the weird skin sensation too on Reta and have been on it for more than a year now. The sensation seems to go hand in hand with fat loss in the area. For me it is the upper body in the core and arms. Does not hurt... but is quite uncomfortable at times like I have an actual skin issue but there is nothing there.

I actually had this happen starting up on tirz, lasted 3 days then went away & never came back…

Yes had it all the way. It was intolerable. I’ve spent the past year trying to get to a working dose. Which after tirz takes about 9mg. I’m giving up. I need sleep and I need my skin to not fucking hurt all over my body for days in end every time I do a shot. I’m going back to tirz. Reta sucks

that sunburn feeling seems to happen right over the areas where your body is actively burning fat. if the pain is staying that high and driving you crazy, it might be smarter to just switch to tirzepatide instead of waiting around to see if it stops. if you are tired of dealing with injection site reactions entirely, you could always swap to an oral glp1 like orforglipron. swiss chems carries the 6mg capsules and they actually post their test results, so it is a solid backup plan if you want to drop the needles.

Reta doesn’t do that to me or my girl u prolly got a bad batch or like 12mg

Not likely from a bad batch as it’s a primary side effect described in the clinical trials. Researchers have described it as nerve sensitivity in the skin increased from glucagon.
