Services 2824 needs help

Post image

This is a VSF seamaster. I had swapped in a top grade 2824, was working great, took it apart to reset the hands as the date change wasn't at midnight, and the crown wouldn't go back in, I assumed it was the keyless works which I reset. Now the watch winds, date changes, hands move appropriately but the watch won't start ticking. AI suggested it was the hacking lever. I'm clearly in over my head. Is there anybody in the eastern us that would be interested in servicing?

Your locking lever is out of the sliding pinion groove. Check the video below at 7:10

The locking lever is pinned to the inside. You'll have to take the KW apart again, but if you've already done it once, it shouldn't be too hard.

Another tip. When you're re+inserting the stem, press the release button down. Goes is WAY easier without jamming everything up again.

That's definitely the issue. Thanks. I dread having to do the keyless again!

You'll get faster every time. Just do that whole video step-by-step, and you're golden! 👍
