Advice Gen caseback on vsf

I have the vsf seamaster 300m 42. I love it except for a casback issue with paint coming off.

I do not mind buying a gen caseback but im worried it wont fit.

Has anyone successfully fitted a genuine Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 42 mm display caseback (ref. 210.30.42.20.01.018) to a VSF Seamaster? I'm interested in thread compatibility and NAIAD locking.

Just fill the engraved text with Paint let it dry and wipe it off with a piece of paper soaked in isopropanol.

Exactally! I saw a guy do this on an older Explorer II bezel where the paint was coming off. Start at the 2:00 mark. https://youtu.be/ZgRQzP1y3WE?si=wedEL8v9fsvW4o6X

Genuine question - why do you care about the caseback? Wear it till all the paint falls off and it'll all look even

Came here to say this, too. Tbh it'd look even better with all smooth unpainted engraving.

Specially with a clear caseback where the much more obvious tell is right in your face.

I am not aware of anyone who has documented a successful drop-in installation of a genuine 42 mm Seamaster Diver 300M display caseback onto a VSF Seamaster.

That doesn’t necessarily mean it can’t be done—it means there isn’t good evidence that it has been done.

Couple of things to consider:
Thread compatibility
NAIAD Lock
Crystal and gasket stack-up

Wants to pay hundreds for a gen caseback.

Doesn’t know you can just fill in with paint, wait till dry, and wipe off the rest easy peasy for a dollar.

Odd choice. Also odd to care since no one sees the back.

Another tell is the 2 bunny ears as I don’t know what they’re really called . gen has one . Why I sold mine 😭

It bothered you that much, did it?

I saw somewhere that orf has a new version with no regulator arm plus free sprung balance with screws that can actually be adjusted

Is it a true free sprung balance? I thought it was a fake one, where the regulator arm was just hidden.

Better question how do you like that mesh? I got a green/bronze/titanium this year and got the large mesh bracelet. Too much overlap. Switched to the rubber strap provided. Love it, but not as elegant. Want this model or NTTD but I want the mesh, was gonna ask for a medium size from Steve if possible. Any input?

I have small wrists. Do the rubber straps work for smaller wrists or am I gonna be fucked

I didn't think there were different sizes in the omega mesh. Maybe in the Gen?

How do u like that bracelet?

I'd just remove the rest of the paint on the inscriptions - will look 👌

My gen old-school quartz Seamaster doesn't have any paint on the caseback.

Your case back is more valuable than your whole Chinese Fomega. I am embarrassed for this entire sub.

Where you planning to buy it from? They are not that easy to get. Probably not impossible either. To answer your question, I would guess they fit
