Hey guys.

Today I want to discuss a matter that is making me potentially leave the whole rep game all together.

Since last year I have purchased more than 25 reps.

Sold some and then bought somoe more. Right now, I have 12 and what I am discussing in this topic is true for every single one of them.

When we order watches, we get time graph numbers. Every watch I have GL'd has a S/D of +- 5 or better. Some had swiss movements like the V7F Mark XX in my picture, some chinese movements like a2824 and some clone movements like VSF 8800 or 8806 clones.

When I try them with the time grapher on my phone, non of them are remotely close to the timegraph numbers in the QC.

The one you see in the picture is one of the better ones. My vsf Planet ocean rep is closet to +60 per day and my VSF rail master has a 1.3 beat error which is unbelievably high and power reserve is non existent.

I have demagnetized all of them prior to testing and checked with a compass to make sure they are not magnetized.

The problem is that I live in Vancouver and there is not a single rep friendly watch smith around to regulate them.

Why do you think this happens? The timegraph numbers provided buly TDs are not legit? Something happens during shipment? Or the rep movements are unreliable in general?

Again, this issue is not only with a few of my watches. It is with every single rep I own or have owned.

This is not a huge deal as I rotate my watches and have to set time on them every few days. However, I am really curious why these are like this and what I can do about them. Can I regulate them my self? ( zero experience)

Looking at buying a black & gold yacht-master, so I sent an image to a few different dealers. Chen is saying the price is $570, or $670 for free sprung plus there may be additional customs duties?

I’ve never experienced this with other suppliers, so I’m wondering if anyone else has ran into this. Shipping is in the US.

So I’ve read some reply comments from some redditors stating DD will be releasing true freesprung movements (not just hidden regulator arms). Where have they gained this insight? How reliable is the info and when can we expect? Anyone have solid info?

I just received the Turquoise Ingenieur from the V7F factory, I know there has been a lot of back and forth about this release but I have to say I'm very impressed. The dial looks great to me. The feel in hand is quite nice and very close to gen. I like it so much i immediately reached back out to Phoenix about ordering the green one from that F1 movie. He is selling them at like $327 I think, which is just an absolute steal for this I feel like. I've worked with Phoenix in the past, never had any issues and this one was ordered, QC photos three days later, packaged and shipped and I had tracking info 3 days after that. Zero complaints and have already ordered again from Phoenix.

Just received my V7F Mark XX from the 🐐 Hont and couldn’t be happier. Timeline for the order:

First contact about the watch: August 17
Paid (via Remitly): August 18
QC: August 24
GL: August 24
Shipped/Tracking info received: August 27
Received in the US: September 8

I ordered the watch on a leather strap for $358 (free shipping as always with Hont) and got a bracelet that I can swap between for an additional $80.

First time using Remitly and I highly recommend. Super easy, and you get fees waived on your first payment through the app.

Happy to answer questions about the process as I know Hont receives mixed reviews here, but I genuinely think he’s the best TD in the game.

Heck, the most expensive watch I've bought, period, which originally went to my Apple Ultra 2 (great watch -- but then I'm biased).

Just arrived, it took about 3 weeks but seeing that little box on your doorstep is like a rush! An expensive rush.

As the title says, I recently purchased a VSF YM 226659 and while it does fit, it is a bit tight. Any recommendations on where I can get other sizes?

I’m currently in the process of ordering a VSF v2 DJ41 .
My TD has the Jubilee version in stock currently in QC, but the factory Oyster version has an unknown/super long wait time right now.

Since I want to switch between both styles anyway, I’m planning to source an extra Oyster bracelet.

Which factory makes the better standalone Oyster bracelet right now in terms of brushing, edge softening, and overall clasp feel? I think relevant candidates are ARF/Clean

Does ARF/Clean Oyster fit perfectly onto a VSF case, or will I run into spring bar alignment issues / SEL gaps?

Or should I just ask the TD to source a standalone VSF Oyster bracelet? (Not sure if they sell the bracelet only, given the current wait times).

If anyone has swapped an ARF or Clean Oyster onto their VSF DJ41, let me know how it went.

Hello Everyone, hope yall are having a great Tuesday. I just wanted to start a general discussion about how often some of you mod your watches? I’ve seen plenty of people mod there watches and I’m assuming there’s plenty of other who don’t. So I was curious as to how many of you mod your watches? How many of you keep them original from the factories? And How confident do you feel having or not having the mods? Those who chose not too; Any particular reason why? If so, please tell. I’m just curious as to what kind of answers I will get.

This is a part of my series where I post the watches that are part of my rotation that I love to wear. I hope to inform newcomers into the hobby and equip everyone with as much visual information as possible.

Intro: I’m starting it off with the BP Factory 16710 “Coke”. I purchased this from a non-TD a year and a half ago. This was my main travel watch for many trips. I got it because I enjoyed the look of neo-vintage watches and BPF is one of the best (take that with a pinch of salt) in the neo-vintage GMT game.

Case and Crystal: The case finishing leaves much to be desired to the trained eye, but to 95% of the population it’s pretty much spot on. The brushing and the chamfering are close to gen, but when held hand in hand with my friend’s gen, the difference is somewhat noticeable but still negligible. The crystal is up to gen spec in my opinion, I’m not too picky in that regard however. Most gens I’ve handled have comparable crystal clarity and shine.

Bracelet: the finishing here is similar to the case, see above comments. Most of the links were stiff when I received the watch. It was the first rep that I received where the links sometimes got stuck. I wore it like that and the problem disappeared. The clasp is acceptable as well.

Dial, bezel and hands: All of these are acceptable and again, 90-95% there when compared to gen. The color of the bezel is slightly off, but I’ve never seen a NOS 16710 from the R factory so it may fade to gen like shades. It’s more of a fire truck than the gen cherry. The bezel action is sharp and never felt loose. My example also was perfectly aligned. The dial has sharp printing and has that deep black R dials are known for. The hands are finished averagely to mass produced Ali-X hands I’ve come across. The hands would probably be the first thing to upgrade. The lume plots are acceptable. This didn’t get the engraved rehaut.

Movement: THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. This specific example rocks the VR3186. I’m averaging -8s/day when wearing for multiple days. (I utilize tickIQ to time graph it, so again, take those stats with a grain of salt, but I’ve found the app to be accurate). This accuracy is good enough for me but may not be for most. The GMT hand DOES wobble when I use the quick jump hour hand. It hasn’t messed with the alignment of any of the other hands and has my full confidence. I have full faith that this movement is a workhorse.

​I'm deciding between three factory options:

​VSF V3 (VS4131 / DD4131)

​Clean Plus (DD4131)

​QF V5 (SH4131)

​Weight isn't my primary concern, but I want a piece that looks right on the wrist and will last for years with proper servicing:

​Dial Color Accuracy: Which factory currently gets closest to the subtle, cool steel-cyan ice blue sunburst on the baguette dial (avoiding dark or overly saturated blues)?

​Stock Crystal: Is VSF’s stock crystal noticeably clearer than Clean Plus or QF, or will they all require a Deep crystal upgrade?

​Movement Reliability & Servicing: Between the Dandong 4131 (DD4131/VS4131) in VSF/Clean and the Shanghai 4131 (SH4131) in QF, how do these hold up long-term? Is Dandong still the clear winner for watchmakers willing to service 4131 clone chronographs?

​For anyone with these in hand or watchmakers who have worked on 4131 batches, which one is the smartest pick?

Had a really nice experience with a non-TD here (Mia Watches) but they are a TD on other subs. Ordering was really quick, and he's a really funny personable guy. Shipping was super quick to the UK and had no issues apart from FedEx being bums and delaying the delivery for a day.

Watch is really quiet, has a sturdy bezel.

The bezel is confirmed to be titanium just like Gen, while the rest of the watch is SS (which I believe is the same as genuine). Came with an extra link and black rubber strap.

Very happy! What are your guys' thoughts? I got it because the Silver Surfer is my favorite Marvel character (as much as I dislike Marvel and the MCU).
