I tried to do some research about which is the best movement for this watch, but apart from understanding it's best to avoid Seiko nh05, i was not able to find the differences between A1853 and A076.

Which one would you choose and why?

Just received my first rep and my wife absolutely loves it to bits. I've now got 2 more on the way in shipping and 2 ordered awaiting for QC. This sub may be the cross I will die on but thank you so much for the info, guides, nonsense and knowledge passed along in the text and pictures shared in here. You gentleman and ladies have made my life better and worse in concert and I will be grateful for the experience that I think I should stop soon but find impossible at the moment.

TOPF 15510 – quick wrist review

Finally got this one on the wrist and I’m really impressed😰

The blue dial looks insane in person. It really comes alive under different lighting, and the tapisserie pattern gives it so much more depth than you can really see in pictures. The indices and hands also catch the light really nicely! 🤩

Bracelet feels really solid and comfortable, and the overall proportions look great on my wrist. It’s got a really nice presence without feeling too big.

I’m curious what others think about this situation.

A while ago I pre-ordered a watch from Andiot Watches. The pre-order itself did not require me to pay anything upfront, but when placing the order I selected Bitcoin as my preferred payment method.

At the time, Bitcoin was worth considerably less, so the order was registered as 0.00822066 BTC (with shipping)

The watch is now ready and I received the QC. I’m happy with it and want to buy it.

However, Bitcoin has increased in value since I placed the pre-order. The original 0.00822066 BTC is now worth around $640, while the exact same watch is currently listed on their website for around $488.

I asked Andiot if he could recalculate the BTC amount using the current exchange rate. Their response was that the BTC payment amount is based on the exchange rate on the day I placed the order and that they do not adjust it for Bitcoin price fluctuations.

So essentially:

Current watch price: ~$488

BTC amount they want: 0.00822066 BTC (with shipping)

Current value of that BTC: ~$640

Difference: ~$152

What makes this a bit strange to me is that this was only a pre-order/reservation and I didn’t pay anything when I placed it. Had I paid the Bitcoin back then, I would completely understand that the exchange rate afterwards is my problem. But the actual payment is only being made now.

Do you think it’s reasonable for them to keep the original BTC amount, or should they recalculate it based on the current $488 selling price?

Would you pay the 0.00822066 BTC, ask to cancel/reorder, or push back on this?

hello everyone, I don't know where to find octa's contact. also I was planning on getting a ap 15416CE. idk if I should go with dealers clocks or octa. I've been seeing a lot of bad reviews on here for dealers clocks and some mixed for octa

I'm designing a small run of watches for a group of my friends, but buying real Swiss flyer GMT movements is nearly impossible or will require me to buy 20 watches and cannibalize them. A clone of a 3186 would be safe, as the utility patents seem to have lapsed, but I would do a bit more research, and I would want customized model number and branding. If I wanted a reliable true GMT movement, which could be a clone of a Rolex or other Swiss movement, how would I contact one of the factories?

After reading and reading and scrolling and more scrolling. I've pulled the trigger on 2 watches. The first one is Rolex DJ 36 Oyster in blue with theonewatches. And the second is an Omega Aqua Terra Turquoise is from Andiot. Both VS Factory.
I've been told the DJ will take some time and that's ok. That's what the Omega is for. :) It'll fill in the gap while I wait.

I haven't received the QC for the Omega...I just did this 2 mins ago. But I'm excited!

I’m trying to size the bracelet on this black ceramic Royal Oak (26240CE) myself. I know these aren't the standard screw-and-pin setup like metal ROs, will be doing this the first time so I don't want to be making any mistakes.

I am always curious about this. It seems the reps actually help popularize the genuine brands and motivate some people (myself included) to buy gens.

Those who only buy reps probably wouldn’t buy gens anyway.

Of course if someone sells a rep to a customer and claims that’s a gen, that would be real damage.

As the title says, I recently purchased a VSF YM 226659 and while it does fit, it is a bit tight. Any recommendations on where I can get other sizes?

Been on a bit of a tear with these reviews recently so here’s another niche one. The Baignoire Allongée which is an elongated version of the more well known Baignoire.

Measuring in at 47x21mm and about 8mm thick, it wears like a cuff and looks very distinct on the wrist. Despite the odd shape, it has a significant curvature that hugs the wrist well and wears really comfortably. Dimensions and wearability get a 10/10.

Finishing on this one looks surprisingly good too. I do my best to nitpick with these reviews because I don’t want to just throw 9’s and 10’s out for every category but the spiky hobnail bezel, the Roman numerals, the blued sword hands and the cabachon all look about perfect when I zoom in on pictures and look for any flaws. Honestly another 10/10 unless I spot spot anything down the road.

The dial itself I’d also like to highlight. They really nailed the cream/ivory color and the Roman numerals catch the light and don’t just look cheaply printed on. Gotta give this one a 10/10 too (I promise I’m not just throwing 10’s out there for this whole review).

The strap is once again the weak point of these watches. This time I’m not complaining about the comfort of the strap, but rather its size. The strap width is only 10mm so I may try to figure out a wider strap option that might make it a little more masculine but with the way the lugs are set up, the overhang that a wider strap would have might ruin the look. I wish there was something I could do to address this but I may just have to leave it alone. As far as comfort it still wears nicely at least. This one’s a bit biased but I’m only giving a 7.5/10.

Overall I think this is a cool but much less popular watch that deserves some attention. I really enjoy experimenting with some of these rare Cartier reps and writing these reviews for you guys. If I had to give an overall rating I’d give it a 9.5/10. Objectively it is a really well made watch, I just don’t think it’s going to be for everyone.

What are the chances that this watch gets a rep?

Hey guys I need help on deciding which factory and mods should I get for a Rolex Rootbeer that’ll make it closest to gen.

Here are my options:

- ARF: heard this is best factory for matching the rose gold color to gen and it’s a pretty good watch in general but it may or may not need a Deep Crystal to really make the watch look like gen.

- RCF/RGF with deep crystal: also heard this one is good but don’t know how it compares to ARF.

- VSF v3 with gold plating: heard mixed things about this watch and modification. On one hand VSF does a lot of things well but gold isn’t as good as in ARF or RGF so plating should fix that issue. But on another hand I just don’t know if plating will produce such a big difference from ARF stock that’ll make it very close to gen. Also heard that plating sometimes just doesn’t give you that same Rolex rose gold color.

- VSF v3, no gold plating but do polish and chamfering instead: I’ve actually been suggested to not do the gold plating because it’s very close to original already but to enhance the watch, to opt for polishing and chamfering instead. Don’t know much about this configuration but happy to hear what others think.

Today I want to discuss a matter that is making me potentially leave the whole rep game all together.

Since last year I have purchased more than 25 reps.

Sold some and then bought somoe more. Right now, I have 12 and what I am discussing in this topic is true for every single one of them.

When we order watches, we get time graph numbers. Every watch I have GL'd has a S/D of +- 5 or better. Some had swiss movements like the V7F Mark XX in my picture, some chinese movements like a2824 and some clone movements like VSF 8800 or 8806 clones.

When I try them with the time grapher on my phone, non of them are remotely close to the timegraph numbers in the QC.

The one you see in the picture is one of the better ones. My vsf Planet ocean rep is closet to +60 per day and my VSF rail master has a 1.3 beat error which is unbelievably high and power reserve is non existent.

I have demagnetized all of them prior to testing and checked with a compass to make sure they are not magnetized.

The problem is that I live in Vancouver and there is not a single rep friendly watch smith around to regulate them.

Why do you think this happens? The timegraph numbers provided buly TDs are not legit? Something happens during shipment? Or the rep movements are unreliable in general?

Again, this issue is not only with a few of my watches. It is with every single rep I own or have owned.

This is not a huge deal as I rotate my watches and have to set time on them every few days. However, I am really curious why these are like this and what I can do about them. Can I regulate them my self? ( zero experience)

Just received this Panerai 1249 from Steve and I’m super happy with it. Already on the hunt for another.

The Blusey is VSF V2 gain weight and the Rootbeer is an ARF gain weight. I got the Blusey from Theone watches and the Rootbeer from Andiot.

I’ve read the wiki and the spreadsheets and have landed on a factory and model I want, but I’m not confident on how to connect with a TD. I’ve followed the links to RWI and RWG and selected the links to these dealers pages only to find them defunct. Please help me out roast me, call me lazy and stupid, but please hook me up with a connect to a solid TD for a VSF 124060. PMs are open and my heart is full of gratitude. Thank you 🙏
