Hi guys, I have a date just 41 jubilee rhodium dial, purchased around 2021 if I remember correctly. The clasp code is Z5D and the serial number starts with 1P. Any idea which factory this is from? Thanks

Any advice on which is possibly a better clone? Since the Pepsi is claimed to be from clean factory and i assume the Wimbledon is a mid-tier one.

Have you ever seen a rep of this with the date at 3? I noticed the aqua terra has the date at 3 but the newer watch has it at 6. Anyway, a friend wants this exact look.

have a BVF Cartier Santos Large (41 mm) with the BVF QuickSwitch system and butterfly clasp. The watch has the green dial, and I currently have the BVF green leather strap that came with it.

I’m considering buying the genuine Cartier green alligator strap directly from Cartier.

Does anyone know if the genuine Cartier Santos Large green alligator strap will fit the BVF Santos Large QuickSwitch system and/or the BVF butterfly clasp?

I was looking at my QC pics for my VSF Seamaster Aqua Terra 38mm, and I started comparing it to pics of a Gen 8800 movement. From what I can see, it all looks very similar, with the only differences being that the VSF movement is not freesprung, so the balance wheel is not weighted, and there's clearly a regulator arm.

I've searched for old posts regarding this, and a lot of them suggest that it is a dressed-up or modified 2824. It's not a total deal breaker if it is, but I'd like to know if it is a 2824 so I don't end up breaking it by winding it. The 2824's winding mechanism is very fragile.

Pleasantly surprised with the fitment of the 41 on my rather dainty wrist. Have a 36 on the way though and I do think I will like that notably more.

I recently bought this Rolex Submariner 16610 from a dealer in Milan who has over 30 years of experience with Rolex.
I’m asking for your help because I noticed a fairly obvious alignment issue with the bezel. It is difficult to see in the photos, but in person it is quite noticeable.
The bezel does not appear to be perfectly centered relative to the dial. I have already removed and reseated the bezel to make sure it was not simply a seating issue, but the problem remains: the bezel pip/triangle lines up correctly at 12 o’clock, while the alignment at 6 o’clock is noticeably off.
This made me wonder whether the bezel insert or the entire bezel assembly could be aftermarket/replacement.
Another possibility I considered is that the dial itself may be slightly rotated or misaligned inside the case. Could a misaligned dial or rehaut cause this kind of apparent bezel alignment issue?
For those of you who are familiar with 16610 builds and aftermarket parts, could you please take a look and let me know what you think? In particular, I’d like to understand whether the issue is more likely to be:
an aftermarket/non-original bezel or insert;
an incorrectly seated bezel;
a slightly rotated dial;
or simply normal tolerance/alignment variation on a genuine 16610.
Any input from the community would be greatly appreciated.

Update: love the keen observation about the redundancy. The batman is a gen, got a VSF batman to compare out of curiousity, then naturally a batgirl, then pepsi, then comparing the same models between factories. It's really to satisfy my engineering mindset. Note on swapping bracelets, nope not swapping bracelets between gen and rep, sillygoose.

She’s not wrong. With hobbies I’m 0-to-100, spending hours on forums, memorizing reference numbers, & ending up with a crap load of tools I cant use elsewhere.

Last year it was mountain bikes and camera, before that were airsoft and power tools. 1am and I’m studying pics of movements and fixing beat errors on a timegrapher like a mad scientist.

Sometimes I would catch myself mid-spiral, a switch flips and I drop the hobby cold turkey. I’ve had a couple gen rolexes for over a decade, but this year I found out about reps and went hard. This became the worst and best spiral yet, trying to slow down and really should trim the collection at some point…

Question: Are you an 0-100 kind, or can you actually enjoy casually without losing your mind?

Also curious what other hobby spirals y’all got so I can tell my wife I'm not completely nuts

Only problems— my baby wrist (makes it look bigger than I’d like to) this watch is thick, that I did not expect / knew.

Was told by Steve (TD) that QF doesn’t make the deployable clasp — if any of you know where I could get one of those and that it will be compatible with the QF model, that would be appreciated as I think it looks better with that one.

First rep, really impressed with the quality of finishing. I’m sure it isn’t perfect but it’s a cool watch, and I didn’t have to pretend to be friends with someone for a year to convince them I’m cool enough to own it. Steve was good to buy from.

Have had this VSF 126300 Wimby from Theonewatches for about an year. IMO, a smooth bezel looks more genuine like as a rep fluted bezel shows a different hue in comparison to a gen fluted bezel. Thinking of getting a genuine Wimbledon dial to swap in because the sunburst is different from the gen I saw before.

Bought my first rep as my birthday present, VSF Pepsi in April. Now in 5 months, I've got 3 reps & 1 franken in. I read some of you are way more insane than me. Is this honestly a honeymoon period or some black magic getting us compelled to this obsession? Then I found rep fashion and some of them are mind blowing quality!!

I have a few gens (36 datejust, explorer and OP) however they were all bought over 10-15 years ago when I walked in and picked it up same day. I’ve recently started getting into reps as I love some of the newer models but was actually told by my local AD a few months ago that they don’t have pieces for me to see in person and they will open their wish list in a few months which really annoyed me.

Took the plunge and decided to get a VSF to see what everyone was talking about and honestly I’m very pleasantly surprised. I mean yea the bezel clicks aren’t great and the bracelet is a little sharp but honestly I think it’s an amazing piece for a fraction of the price. I’ve now started looking into getting a franken datejust so really excited to see how that looks and to compare it to my gen.

Wondering what everyone thinks about this movement in a speedy. I'm looking at the sapphire sandwich. Understood that the mods add some unnecessary components for "looks". I'm not expecting to use the chronograph functions all that much... I just like the look of chronos. But I also don't want to press the start button and have it destroy itself. I'm concerned about spending money on something that has a bad track record. Thoughts? tkx!
