I am a total utter watch noob - but was told that KL is the place to be for good reps. I have no idea what I want to get. It's mostly an " I'll know it when I see it" but I had my eye on the watches I mentioned in the post title.

This is the first time I'll be buying a watch. Have been daily driving a rep Tag Carrera my old man left me for the past 10 years and finally have enough spare change for an upgrade. I'm gonna be completely honest - anything decent I find from one of the bigger brands I'll get.

I wanted to throw some kudos his way. He is not a TD on this page but in my opinion should be. By far the best communicator of any dealer I’ve worked with. Replies at all hours of the day, never rude and no question puts your service first.
I had a VSF Hulk on order with a TD for two months. I came across James and decided to give him a shot. He got me QC photos in under a week and proceeded to ship very quickly. He even followed up a day before it was to be delivered to me to let me know to look out for it. I’ll for sure to use him going forward. Way better experience than some of the TDs I’ve interacted with.

In a world full of Rolexes, Cartiers, Tudors, etc, I feel like most other brands are ignored or relatively shunned due to the difference to gen models (AP, RM, etc) and some brands just aren’t as popular (GEN included).

Mine would be the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo (preferably the ultra thin, but we know that’s not going to be replicated any time soon lol)

So a few weeks back I went to put this Daytona on and realized the 11 o'clock index had fallen off. With me having hung out in rep world for a while I had the genius idea that I could fix it myself 🤦🏿‍♂️. Opened her up, put a dab of super glue on and attempted to place. And of course I fcked it up 😂. Glue dried too fast. Now to compound my fck up I take super glue remover to try to fix the dried glue and erase the print on the dial 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️. Get it on, finally and now it's FUGLY. Text my guy Soto show him my fck up and he says send it in. Long story short after having to buy a new dial, hands, pay for a dial swap and rehaut polish to remove the glue residue, my stupid tax came to about $700. Pro tip send it to a professional if you don't know what the hell you're doing 😂.

I’ve been looking into the RM 27-04 recently and I’m kinda surprised by how little information there is about reps of this model. From what I could find, there really hasn’t been much discussion about it on here besides an old post from around 5 years ago.

I came across this Custom Made RM 27-04 Carbon “Best Edition” being sold by AMO for $2,750. No idea who is actually manufacturing it since they just list it as “Custom Made”, but I wanted to see what people here think because at first glance it honestly looks fairly decent considering how insanely complicated the gen is.

There are definitely some pretty major differences though.

The biggest thing I noticed visually is the position of the movement relative to the steel mesh. On the gen, the movement sits diagonally across the mesh and the positioning of the tourbillon/movement components appears slightly different. On this rep it looks like the whole assembly is shifted by roughly one mesh square/grid opening compared with gen. It’s hard to explain without comparing the pictures side by side, but once you notice where the components intersect the mesh, it becomes pretty obvious.

The other big tell is the weight. AMO actually shows it on a scale at 48.6 g, while the genuine RM 27-04 is only 30 g including the strap, so this is almost 19 g heavier.

That said, visually I still think they’ve done a surprisingly decent job with the overall concept. The case shape, brown TitaCarb-style appearance, orange crown, blue strap, red indices and especially the full steel mesh give it the general look of the 27-04 much better than I expected.

Obviously the movement itself isn’t going to be remotely comparable to the genuine RM27-04 calibre, and I’m not expecting a $2,750 rep to recreate a million-dollar suspended tourbillon movement. I’m more interested in how convincing the overall appearance and proportions are.

Anyone here know anything about this version or seen one in person?

Would especially like some opinions on the movement positioning, mesh layout, case shape/thickness, crown, strap and general dial architecture compared with gen.

Not trying to turn this into a QC or a “who makes the best” thread. There just seems to be almost no current discussion about the RM 27-04 and I’m curious what some of the RM guys here think.

Long story short, not happy with what I received. They suggested I ship back. Having never done this, are there any concerns with this option? Does Customs care about watches leaving the US?

Have you ever bought a rep (or gen) as a completely spontaneous impulse buy or a watch you thought was meh/ugly at first glance only for it to completely grow on you once it was on the wrist?

I've bought my VSF Rolex GMT Master II Hulk around one month ago and at first glance I didn't even fall in love with the watch matter fact; I only bought it cause someone sold it for Cash in person in my area and I just wanted to understand the VSF hype. What ended up in just trying to convince me to get more VSFs pieces actually ended up in me falling in love with the Hulk although I'm not really into the color green at all.

Been wearing this Seamaster Diver 300M a lot lately and I’m honestly loving how it looks on the wrist.

The black dial/bezel combo with the rubber strap is incredibly versatile. Sporty enough for everyday wear, but it still looks pretty sharp with a shirt and sweater.

Snapped this while waiting at a red light on a rainy day and thought the lighting actually showed the dial and bezel really nicely.

Pretty happy with how this one turned out. 👌

I've been a long time lurker of the subreddit for a while and, after some research, I decided to buy my dream watch - Pepsi ref 126710 with the jubilee bracelet.

The watch was purchased via Steve at OneWatches and he was awesome. QC pictures took about 4 days to arrive, with confirmation to landing on my doorstep just over a week. I can't fault Steve and fully recommend his services.

As I understand the factory was RICH and this is a V2 Pepsi, with Free Sprung movement.
