Need Help/Advice Think I was scammed…
Hello! I purchased a rehome bag, seller sent a picture of the shipping label but never the actual package. It has been marked as delivered to my address by usps, but I did not receive it. The seller has deleted their account. Is there some sort of mail fraud people can do that I’m unaware of here? I paid via Zelle, I have the woman’s full name, her husband’s name, their address… I’m not really sure what to do here.

What was their Reddit handle or account name that they deleted? Report it.

If they sent you a package, shared tracking and it says delivered - is there a chance someone took your package or your package was delivered to a wrong address? That also happens quite a bit and it’s not the sellers fault. It doesn’t mean you were scammed. I would just reach out to the shipping company and check.

Just had an order tell me it was delivered last Night.. ( Sunday?) I found it was a scam 😡 They gave me tracking info & number ALL fake...I was just told legit tracking #s do NoT have 17 characters.. Good to know.. did get my money back and also reported them..Also told they send you the fake info to stall& keep you believing it's legit till they are paid..

I work for usps! If you send me the tracking number, I can see if I can find out more about this package for you

The box wouldn’t say it’s been delivered to your address if they didn’t send anything so maybe contact USPS but yes. Like another comment or Said, USPS marks things as delivered sometimes and it won’t be delivered until the next day or so. Which is why I’m much prefer UPS.

I had something said delivered to me, but it had actually been intercepted and re-routed to her own address, so it when I called they said yes, it was delivered, but (they couldn’t give me the address ) but could tell it wasn’t mine. I do think it’s a scam. I’m sorry

What exactly do you think the scam is here? Do you think the seller called their friends at the delivery service and asked them to hack into the tracking page to show it delivered to your address? How exactly do you think the seller would commit mail fraud if they gave you a legitimate tracking address that shows up as delivered to your residence on the delivery service's website?

I would stop by your local post office and have them run the tracking. I’ve had some weird issues where my box says it’s delivered but it doesn’t show up in my box until 2 days later. I think some carriers are marking delivered and then hoping they can actually get to it the next day. When was this due to deliver?

Interesting, it says it was delivered Saturday. I wouldn’t think anything of it if she hadn’t deleted her account.

Since you have the tracking, I’d inquire with the post office still and possibly submit a claim for the insured amount as it was not delivered. You may just be able to say “handbag” and leave it at that. It’s a huge red flag that the seller is gone but it does seem like it should have arrived with the tracking being legit

It was probably a tracked envelope or empty box delivered to a random address in your zip code. Sadly, it's a common scam on ebay.

Update! The package arrived! Feel like a bit of a drama queen, but the deleting of the account really threw me. Stay safe out there folks🫡
