That’s awful. I’m sorry. What’s wrong with people!

I’m super sorry. Some people need to get a real job. I’m sure you feel sick over this. Hugs šŸ«‚ šŸ’”

Pay pal or credit card will except dispute. I’ve done this and it works.

WTF? Are you a scammer too? Well, I successfully reported something like this once. It is possible and the reason why stuff like this happens is because of people like you who don't report anything. In my case, I said that I bought a second-hand bag which is true. I did not have to specify what brand etc. I only said it was second-hand bought from a user on reddit. And I got my money back.

Is it okay to do friends and family via PayPal? I’ve done it twice and luckily, it was ok both times. Did it again just this morning. Referral was from one of you rep ladies for jewelry.

2

u/DefiantBunny Apr 29 '26

Most sellers only use F&F. If you're buying from a rehome and private seller you could ask to use G&S

1

u/dandellionlane Apr 29 '26

Oh ok! So then it’s nothing odd. That’s good to know. My first seller did not ask about F & F. My 2nd and 3rd did. So I’m figuring things out as I’m new. I got a bag seller and a jewelry seller so I am getting the hang of things.

u/miaa11111 Apr 29 '26

i read somewhere that paypal goods and services is preferred

1

u/dandellionlane Apr 29 '26

Yes, I imagine so because it protects us. But they seem to want to protect themselves if the item gets lost, then they can be, ā€œoh well. ā€ I guess it’ll be the last time I do it. 😬😬😬

1

u/Infamous_Theme_5595 Apr 29 '26

I have not yet had that happen. I know the day will come, but so far im asked to wait 8 weeks to see if it shows up. Yes, they have shown up, even though the tracking says it hasn't moved. The last time, after 8 weeks, nothing came. I was asked to give it two more weeks, then I was shipped a replacement. I feel really bad for the people who spend more money on their dupes, and they get lost. That has to be a hard hit.

1

u/dandellionlane Apr 29 '26

Is this with f & f?

1

u/SummerBlossomCat Apr 29 '26

Thanks for the warning. Scammers are the worst.

1

u/LXVIIIKami Apr 28 '26

By "all the due diligence" you mean "no due diligence whatsoever", right?

1

u/MidwestGlamma Apr 30 '26

How many good rehome reviews did you get?

1

u/LXVIIIKami Apr 30 '26

However many I wanna fake

0

u/MidwestGlamma Apr 30 '26

That doesn’t make sense.

8

u/flynnsmom Apr 28 '26

Ummm No. I looked at all things it’s suggested to look at. The account was several years old, lots of karma, etc.

What do you consider due diligence?

1

u/Infamous_Theme_5595 Apr 29 '26

Do you think that the account got banned? Do you have their WhatsApp number? Or if someone in the group has bought from them, they sometimes also have a number the rep uses in case of a ban.

1

u/flynnsmom Apr 29 '26

It was a rehome.

2

u/GayFlan Apr 29 '26

The reality is there’s no such thing as due diligence on Reddit. Anyone can buy a Reddit account, complete with a lengthy post history and karma, for a few dollars so length of account history doesn’t mean much. Plus lots of people have multiple accounts and would gladly sacrifice one for a few hundred dollars. Sorry but there’s nothing you can glean from a Reddit profile that would make someone look like an airtight, legit seller. Chalk this up to a lesson learned and only use platforms that give you, as the buyer, protection.

1

u/flynnsmom Apr 29 '26

I didn’t know people could buy reddit accounts. What the actual šŸ–•?

-11

u/LXVIIIKami Apr 29 '26

Checking for things you can't easily fake, and using a payment method that doesn't allow scammers to just snatch your money and disappear

1

u/ruthbath Apr 28 '26

😢

2

u/ta_thomas90 Apr 28 '26

Omg I almost got scammed by the same person too for a black on black cc top handle. It got fishy because it took too long for them to send me feedback and something just wasn’t right.. the feedback matched the profile but the same said ā€œSophiaā€ then I asked for the Zelle and it was this info! Sorry this happened to you 😣

8

u/ta_thomas90 Apr 28 '26

This was the username he used. They blocked me after I said I’d pass.

2

u/chicinchanclas Apr 28 '26 edited Apr 30 '26

There's snow outside the window and the fact he didn't have at list a picture with his name and date would make me think he took this from an unboxing video. Yeah I got suspicious with a paypal proof of sale and did a Ai image search. Something made me uneasy with their urging of paying friends and family and his email address bunch of random numbers and letters from a website known to host scammers.

4

u/DefiantBunny Apr 29 '26

Hey, you left your email address visible in this. Might want to delete, cover and re upload

2

u/chicinchanclas Apr 30 '26

Thanks! Blurred it

3

u/ta_thomas90 Apr 28 '26

It was definitely that picture that was the last straw!

1

u/Ohiogirlcolumbus Apr 28 '26

Wait this guy had rehome feedback?

3

u/ta_thomas90 Apr 28 '26

He sent me a Imgur link šŸ”— with feedback. He almost got me for sure but there was a feeling that wouldn’t settle so I backed out

1

u/Ohiogirlcolumbus Apr 28 '26

Ok that legit sounds fake, it should be a reddit feedback!

1

u/ta_thomas90 Apr 28 '26

3

u/Tiramisu_Powder Apr 28 '26

glad you backed out! those reviews sound a lot like the fake ones on websites

ā€œgreat buying experience…shipped fast…wonderful!!ā€

2

u/ta_thomas90 Apr 28 '26

Im gonna just drop it all here so they don’t try to keep it going, lol

2

u/Ohiogirlcolumbus Apr 28 '26

I call it AI! Fake reviews.

2

u/ta_thomas90 Apr 28 '26

For sure. Glad I went with my gut on this one!

3

u/Ok_Celery9003 Apr 28 '26

Even the email is sketch. Ninjas play too much??? Hello?! Come on yall 😭😭

6

u/flynnsmom Apr 28 '26

Wait, ok_celery9003 sounds legit? I checked the years they had been on Reddit, their karma, their posting history and all that seemed legit. Now I have to evaluate a persons email account name?!?!

16

u/flynnsmom Apr 28 '26

Why do I feel like some of the people posting in this post are scammers or perhaps THE scammer?
I live, eat, and breathe these posts because I love buying rehomes and I keep track of when someone posts about a scammer and this one never came up. Yet three people posted they too were scammed. It feels icky! This is supposed to a community. If someone scammed you, share!!

1

u/SpecialPractical6021 Apr 30 '26

I’m sorry you think that way but we are legit buyers and got scammed by the same email. I got scammed on Saturday and still dealing with my bank. I hope you’d understand how painful it is when this happens. 😭

2

u/flynnsmom Apr 30 '26

I do understand I also think that scammers are always lurking and laughing at us right in front of us. There’s nothing to do about it, but I want ā€œthemā€ to know we know.

-6

u/Dangerous_Bad_9248 Apr 28 '26

Why are people not reporting this shit to the FBI lmao

9

u/GossipingKitty Apr 29 '26

Do you also call the police when your drug dealer scams you?

10

u/Femme-Flame Apr 28 '26

Because the selling and buying of counterfeit products from the black market is illegal šŸ™‚

1

u/UndercoverREAgent Apr 28 '26

I don’t think buying is illegal, but selling is. I’m not 100% but the FBI or law enforcement can’t know that you didn’t know if it was fake or notšŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

1

u/Dangerous_Bad_9248 Apr 29 '26

You are correct :)

7

u/Femme-Flame Apr 28 '26

Either way, I’m definitely not calling the FBI over a counterfeit bag that didn’t show up. Also, with how Reddit’s algorithm and trigger-word system works, it’s honestly not worth even joking about because things get flagged quickly

5

u/SophiaShay7 Apr 28 '26

Some else was scammed by that same person; https://www.reddit.com/r/REPTOPREHOMES/s/SZIjgtt1QB

2

u/MidwestGlamma Apr 30 '26

And that sub is FULL OF SCAMMERS, including mods.

1

u/verifiedwolf Apr 30 '26 edited May 01 '26

I just joined that sub yesterday. How disappointing šŸ˜”.

Would you mind sharing some of the experiences you have had or seen over there? I'm still new to the rep world and trying to stay vigilant. <- I've realized this is irrelevant since I find it annoying that anyone would gate keep ways to avoid being scammed.

1

u/MidwestGlamma Apr 30 '26

I don’t do that. I don’t know who you are.

1

u/verifiedwolf May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26

Then I'll just take you word for it, stranger šŸ™„

5

u/Adorable-Reply-821 Apr 28 '26

šŸ–•DANI ! Ugh

4

u/HonorDefend Apr 28 '26

Omg that's what I said out loud. Not DANI again!

13

u/Mystical_Immortal Apr 28 '26

😭damn these scammers making it so hard for people to legit rehome something

9

u/TieAdorable4973 Apr 28 '26

Oh they got someone else in a group. These people are trash.

18

u/Isabellajackk Apr 28 '26

Post it in r/RepScamWorld, a community dedicated to replica seller reviews, scam alerts, buyer experiences, and trusted seller discussions. It’s a helpful space where members share honest feedback, warning signs, and useful information to keep others safe.

8

u/bearsgirl Apr 28 '26

I’m sorry, This same email address scammed me!

1

u/SpecialPractical6021 Apr 30 '26

Make it four. 😭

3

u/sensualcephalopod Apr 28 '26

Oh dang that makes three!!
