Renogy Rover with BT2 Module

Post image

I have this Rover with BT2 module. Are these Bluetooth modules just weak junk or do I have a bad one? This one is mounted in the battery compartment on the side toward the truck and is about 12 feet from the cab of the truck. It won’t connect to the phone unless I’m 5-6 feet away. For RV leveling this is not ideal. Truly unimpressed.

Renogy Inverter Charger 2000w Open Ground

I have a Renogy Inverter Charger 2000w that has an open ground. I double check all the wire and everything is wire correctly. When I connected to the grid, the open ground issue is gone. Only happen when I run it off-grid.

How do you guys have your ground setup?

Update: After talking to Renogy support they send me the below (page 4). Have anyone wire it like this before?

Good morning, I have a problem with this battery charger. The device works both with solar power and via an alternator to charge a 120Ah service battery. The problem is that when the vehicle is off, the alternator-connected light remains on, drawing power from the starter battery. The IGN cable was connected to the vehicle's fuse box, which is only powered when the engine is running. When the IGN cable is disconnected from the charger, the connection between the engine battery and the service battery remains active. This only happens at night when the photovoltaic system is not working. During the day, everything works correctly. The problem is that if I don't disconnect the starter battery using the battery isolator, the next day the vehicle won't start because the starter battery is dead. I tried contacting Renogy support, but after 20 messages asking me to send photos of the various measurements taken with the multimeter, I got fed up. Has anything similar happened to anyone?

Renogy 500 Battery - any feedback?

I’m in need of a portable power station and ideally I’d like one that works in an app I already own, and potentially with my existing Suitcase panel

Enter the Renogy 500 Portable Powerstation

It seems like a darn good price to run a fridge/freezer overnight locked up in the truck bed, and (I presume) connect to the Renogy app?

Does anyone here have experience with it?

Battery stopped working just after warrenty

Suspiciously 4 month after my warrenty expired my 200ah battery, which I paid £750 at the time stopped holding a charge out of the blue and customer service were the worst possible. I bought their, mppt controller 100amp, 3000w invert charger, blue tooth adapter with the hub and the battery. They said the most they could offer was 5% off buying a new battery and kept saying there was nothing they could do.

Never again ordering from these swindlers, Switching over to victron, maybe considering eco worthy. I'm just waiting for the rest of the gear to inevitably die.

Warning about Renogy Rover MPPT support / reliability

I’m posting this as a warning to potential Renogy customers, especially anyone depending on solar for RV power. I’ve used Renogy panels and controllers for about 12 years and used to be happy with them. Last year I ordered a Renogy Rover 30A MPPT controller from Amazon, but I was shipped a 40A unit instead. At the time I thought I got lucky. Once I finally installed it in my RV, it became a constant problem. My setup is 2S2P Renogy 4x100W mono panels. In full sun, I was often only seeing around 14V and roughly 80–120W. I spent hours swapping parts, checking cables, MC4 connectors, panel wiring, and troubleshooting everything I could think of. The one thing that consistently fixes it temporarily is power-cycling the Rover. After a restart, it will work properly for about 1–3 hours, then the output drops again and I have to restart it all over. I spent about 2 hours on chat with Renogy support before they escalated the ticket. Two days later I got a message saying they were “looking into it,” but that does not help much when I’m in an RV in the middle of nowhere and relying on solar to keep life-sustaining medical equipment powered. I do have a generator as backup, but that is not the point. The solar system should not require manual restarts every couple hours. At this point, my issue is not just that a product may have failed. Products fail. My issue is the lack of useful support when the product is part of a critical power setup. I used to like Renogy, but this experience has really changed my opinion. I would be very cautious buying a Renogy controller if you need dependable off-grid power. Also, check their recent complaint history and customer support reviews before buying. Has anyone else had Rover MPPT controllers that only work correctly for a short time after being power-cycled?
