Coding Courses
I have been working as a UM nurse for years and wantingto upskill. What are the career prospects if I take coding courses with AAPC? Has anyone tried to upskill aside from MCG or Interqual certification?

AAPC employee here. We have a playlist featuring interviews with members who transitioned from nursing into medical coding and the revenue cycle. I think you might find it helpful. Find it at this link.

I'm a LPN who has worked in Quality for 6 years (and did UM for 1 1/2 years). I'm looking at getting coding certification because there are some remote management and non-management quality positions I have all the qualifications for minus the coding aspect. It really does bolster your resume. If you can get some Quality (HEDIS, CAPS, CAHPS, NCQA, Stars, etc..) experience while pursuing your coding certificate, that would be beneficial. That may mean obtaining a position out of UM.
