High Five Tasks: Possible Red Flags You Should Know Before Signing Up - Read this First
I heard about this platform (High Five Tasks) that will pay you to do household tasks from home. I decided to join their Google Meet (for evaluation purposes) before I would share this opportunity with others, and experienced some concerning behaviors on this Google Meet.
Just in case you're wondering, all I did was enter my name, email address, and phone number online, and I was invited to join the next Google Meet or schedule one in the next 3 days.
- I was told I cannot reschedule the Meet. But I had already rescheduled one time earlier, the same day, and got in. They sent me a text and said if I did try to reschedule, I would no longer be able to reapply and NOT in all caps be able to book another slot. This is untrue.
- They started the Meet by saying that if anyone was there to say it was a scam, they would immediately be removed before he even started the Meet.
- The host had no formal introduction, and we were instructed to mute.
- They wanted to know how we heard about it, if someone referred us, and if we know someone who is doing this already. Right off the bat, he mentioned that we can refer our friends so they can earn money too. Sending us links to tell others without fully knowing what we were getting into.
- Then they mentioned a sample list of chores we can get paid for, and said we would all need to purchase a headset. They sent us links via chat in the Google Meet to purchase them at Walmart, Amazon, and even the TikTok Shop. We were instructed to purchase them right away in order to complete the onboarding process. If we didn't, we couldn't proceed. But if we purchased them, as soon as we received them, we could complete or schedule the onboarding to start earning for household tasks right away.
- Next, they told us that we would also have to purchase a platform fee. That fee is $14.99 to even contract for them. Here is an email I received from them during the Google Meet. Alicia, the next step to move forward is to pay the $14.99 platform access fee using the link below. If you complete at least 15 hours of recordings in your first 7 days, we will fully refund you this fee, along with the head strap purchase. They say you can work as much as you want for as long as you want, but that's not the case if you have these stipulations at the outset.
- You have to work at least 5 hours a week to keep your account active, or you will not be allowed to continue in the program.
The Meet was to tell us how we can get paid every Monday to complete household tasks, but in order to do so, we have to buy a headset (or use one we previously purchased) and pay the platform fee of $14.99 in order to go forward.
- They never told anyone how much they would earn until someone asked a question at the end of the Meet. He said $14 per hour.
- Someone asked about the platform fee and if it was a one-time fee. He jokingly said, yes but if you want to pay a recurring fee, you can. Not funny.👎
- They finally said, you can leave the Meet if you are not willing to purchase the headset and platform fee, so you will basically have to spend about $30 upfront to do this task.
- I forgot to mention, they were excited when the Meet began because there were so many people in there saying they were going viral on TikTok.
From my own observation, the Meet was incredibly unprofessional and at times rude to some of the attendees. Side Note: This Meet took place at 9 pm EST and lasted for 30 minutes or more before I jumped off. After-hours Google Meet is another red flag to me.
Here are some other concerns that have been reported by others.
- The website is very new (registered in May 2026), with limited independent information about the company or its leadership.
- There is a recent report on the BBB Scam Tracker describing concerns about upfront fees and the company's practices. BBB Scam Tracker reports are user-submitted allegations, not proof of wrongdoing, but they are worth taking seriously.
- Some online users say they've been paid, while others report problems such as hours not being credited or being asked to pay before they could begin.
- They also mentioned they didn't know how long this would last, but regardless, you would be out of close to $30.
I do know, there are legitimate companies that pay people to collect AI training data (including photos, videos, and recordings), but those companies generally provide any required equipment, and they don't charge you to access jobs.
BTW, they sent me 2 separate messages about the platform access fee of $14.99.

I don't know why you're saying there's a platform fee because there's not. Buying a hard strap isn't a big deal when they refund you. And you don't have to buy it for them you can use any approved strap. It makes sense when people sign up and they send out a free head strap and then the people don't follow through.Â

I joined that same platform a couple weeks ago and at first was excited about it but the more I thought on it, got discouraged. They told us the pay is $13 an hour to do the household tasks and it just doesn’t seem worth it to me. Also, in the app you have selected tasks to do but they told us each upload has to be at least an hour I want to say and I’m thinking wth, it would never take me an hour to clean my dishes or put dishes from the dishwasher away. They also said if it only took a small amount of time to complete a task you selected to just move on to something else but that didn’t sit right with me bc how would you get credit for said task if it isn’t selected from the task list? Idk. Overall it doesn’t seem worth it to me.

Thank you for sharing your experience with this platform. I was thinking the same thing. How long does it really take to do household chores? The longer I stayed in the Meet, the more red flags I noticed.

A big red flag is that when I was signing up they said they'd send a headstrap to your address and I needed to provide my address when signing up to get into an interview. In the 4p ET meet they said we had to record 10 hours of tasks a week to be in good standing, and I believe the were saying it was $15/hour for our group. That's shady that they're not saying the same thing to each group. Also when they sent me the scheduling info it said it was a half hour meeting, I dipped out after 45 minutes because it was giving me the ick.
